Fasting For Spiritual Renewal - Not Just For Weight Loss

Fasting
Wanna know the REAL LynFit difference? Unlike other weight loss programs, we deal with weight loss "from the inside out". That's where the biggest changes need to be made, and where the root of many problems are. Dealing with weight loss in this manner is the best for lasting weight loss and a healthier lifestyle.

Sometimes no matter how hard you try to focus on good and positive things all you can see is the bad. Seeing nothing but bad eventually leads us to focusing on self-centeredness, unable to hear our own inner voice. Fasting is more than just not eating meat on Fridays. Fasting is a way to leave behind that physical pain, those bad thoughts, that self-centeredness. Fasting removes our dependency from all things that block our sensitivity to the spiritual.

I want to take you on a little journey to give you a glimpse into my "why" when it comes to living a Leaner Lifestyle, even after I reached my goal weight. For me, and I'm guessing there are many others of you who would agree, reaching that goal weight was just the beginning. Weight loss was the physical renewal that was visible to everyone. The REAL renewal was what took place on the inside. Those deepest darkest places that no one else could see. That renewal was a spiritual renewal. No, not a religious renewal that was tied to a certain set of doctrinal beliefs or a religious denomination. Rather a true deep-rooted spiritual renewal that was directly tied to my personal relationship with a very personal God. A relationship that allows me to live a life of clean eating to honor my body rather than junking it up.

The Metabolic Boosting: Lose 1 Pound Per Day Plan (found in "The Metabolism Solution") fits perfectly with fasting lifestyles, making it easier to stick to your fast regardless of your religion. This in turn allows you to concentrate on the reason why you're fasting in the first place, keeping your body and mind healthy so you can focus on the more important things in life - renewing your spirit and not just focusing on your body.

For me, fasting brings deeper meaning to my life and helps me to hear God's voice more clearly, allowing me to live according to His will. In short, it brings clarity to my life. At my church, Northeast Community Church, we fast together as a community and as individuals. I would love for you to join with me this week spending time reading, reflecting and praying using this Daily Spiritual Renewal Guide (You may print the guide out directly from the link. Special thanks to Northeast Community Church for content).

Make sure you break your fast in as clean a way as possible by referring to the clean recipe in the Renewal Guide for the last day. Your system will have been purified and your spirit renewed. Let's not "junk" it right back up with heavy eating to only weigh you right back down again.

I am thrilled that you're taking this journey of spiritual renewal with me. I can't wait to hear your stories of how God worked in and through your life. I challenge all of us to dig deep and lose that excess baggage we've been carrying around. And not just of the unwanted physical weight variety.

Note: During a time of fasting it's a good idea to decrease your workouts

Diabetes And Belly Fat

National Diabetes Awareness MonthNovember is National Diabetes Awareness Month, and I bet you're wondering what diabetes has to do with belly fat. Believe it or not, if you carry excess weight around your middle (can you pinch an inch?) your body is warning you that you are over-eating carbs and sugars (this includes fruits and juices). The belly fat that you are carrying around is a sign that your "Carb Tank" is full and cannot process anymore food.

The problem is we love our food. What to do? We all know that diabetes can be a lethal disease, so my message is "prevention is the cure". Not only when it comes to preventing diabetes but also to losing belly fat.

Below are 3 proven methods that melt belly fat fast. If you're already active these steps will help you lose it even faster and easier. The more of these steps you combine the faster you'll lose weight too. Are you ready to melt fat and lose 1 pound per day? Then let's get started.....

3 Tricks That Melt Belly Fat and Could Possibly Save Your Life

Metabolic Workouts Melt Belly Fat Fast: The more you move, the better

Exercise trains muscles to respond better to insulin, which simply means your body will burn off the excess carbs you eat by using them for fuel. Metabolic workouts are the fastest, most effective way to lower insulin (blood sugar) levels, which persuades your body to burn/melt that belly fat. When combined with metabolic workouts with 30 minutes of walking every day, it turbo charges your fat melting.

WARNING: Not all workouts are created equal. If your workout doesn't say "metabolic", it isn't. Other forms of workouts beat the couch but won't have the magic effect the combination of 3 metabolic workouts weekly and 30 minutes of walking will. I suggest sticking to metabolic workouts and walking for the best results. For more information about metabolic workouts you can refer to my book, The Metabolism Solution, and my LynFit Metabolic Workout DVDs.

Eat Thermogenically

Melting belly fat is 90% diet and 10% sweat, so it's critical that you focus heavily on your diet if you're serious about melting belly fat and lowering your risk of diabetes. Again, prevention is the cure and what you eat counts. The healthiest foods don't come with nutrition labels so even the so-called healthy foods you spend a fortune on aren't as good for your waistline as you think. The easiest way to lower blood sugar and melt belly fat is to lower your carb intake. This includes fruit. Focus on filling ½ your plate with salad or leafy green veggies and ¼ of the plate with fibrous veggies such as broccoli and cauliflower (a full list may be found in The Metabolism Solution). The remaining quarter is for lean proteins such as fish. The balance of protein and vegetables is crucial, as the protein acts as a buffer, slowing down the release of insulin, which is key for balancing blood sugar levels. It is even important when it comes to burning off that excess fat.

For more information about Thermogenic eating to melt belly fat, please refer to The Metabolism Solution.

Manage Your Mood: Improve your sleep and you'll manage stress better

Stress has been known to cause excess belly fat, not reduce it. Stress hormones raise blood sugar so it's important to try to reduce stress in your life. Have you ever noticed when you're in a good mood that you can manage stress much better? While stress is a fact of life and we can't control when it occurs, we can change how we react to it by taking better care of ourselves, and it all starts with a good night's sleep. But when we're stressed it affects our sleep and it then becomes a vicious cycle. It can be stopped naturally however. Rather than take over-the-counter sleep aids that make you feel groggy and may also raise blood sugar levels, it's a very good idea when trying to melt belly fat to take (1) LynFit Lean Sleep 1-2 hours before bed to naturally prepare your body for sleep. The melatonin in Lean Sleep won't raise blood sugar levels and will help kill hunger cravings before they begin. Lean Sleep not only helps you sleep, it also turns your body into a thermogenic fat-blasting machine while you sleep. Melatonin also has the reputation of being a regulator of brown adipose tissue, which burns calories instead of storing them, thereby ramping up your metabolism.

Try these 3 simple steps and when all else fails and you fall off the wagon - and you will because we live in the real world - don't forget to take the LynFit Carb Edge before you cheat. It has the added feature of blocking carbs, so if you take it before you cheat you'll block 65% of them from being stored. It's like eating a whole doughnut and only absorbing ¼ of it. Now I'm not suggesting you do that - eat the doughnut - but we all have our moments. Better to be protected than not. It's far easier to prevent the carbs from being stored in the first place than it is to burn them off later, especially with the holiday's right around the corner. Holidays mean stress and delicious food - protect yourself!

The Gratitude Challenge For Lasting Transformational Change

I just completed my Advanced Level of Coaching with Jack Canfied (co-author, "Chicken Soup for the Soul") at his home in Santa Barbara, CA. During this retreat I noticed a recurring habit that totally changed people's lives - physically, mentally and spiritually. This habit didn't just change lives gradually; rather, it transformed lives overnight. What was that habit that when willingly practiced radically transformed people's lives? Gratitude.

Gratitude - that quality of willingly being thankful and appreciative for a benefit that you have already received. When it comes to weight loss and fitness we spend so much time hating our bodies. So much so that we often forget just how much we have to be grateful for. Could it be that one of the greatest hindrances to our weight loss is our attitude - our failure to be grateful? I think so.

"Less than good" attitudes are like flat tires - you won't go very far until you change it. You've all heard the saying, "what you focus on multiplies" - that is absolutely correct. Just think about it. How many times have you woke up on the wrong side of the bed and that negativity carried throughout the entire day? Once you're mired in the mud it's hard to get out.

I challenge you to change the way you look at things, starting today. Try to see some positive in everything, even bad situations. Do this on a consistent basis and eventually the way you see those things and your beliefs in them will change. What we believe shapes our thinking, which in turn shapes our lives. This is especially true when it comes to our bodies. We often don't see things for what they are but what we perceive them as being. The way we see things is shaped by the way we see ourselves. If you believe you are lovable, you will act in a loving and caring manner toward your body by treating it with respect and feeding it right, exercising it safely and nourishing it; body and mind.

When you "love" on yourself you will attract more love your way as well. Friend, spouses, even the dog will show the respect to you that you show. It all starts with you. On the opposite end of the spectrum, if you believe you're not worthy and unlovable you'll act accordingly. Yes, including eating clean, pure foods and making sure you get enough daily exercise. You focus on your fear and that fear multiplies into all aspects of your life.

I never believed I would lose weight so I never really committed to doing what I was supposed to. I used to complain, "it didn't work for me" or I would lie and tell myself I was doing what I was supposed to and it just wasn't working. The truth is nothing changed until I changed from the inside out. It all started with a single thought, a single attitude adjustment from negativity to gratefulness. Now at age 46 I'm in the best shape of my life. I've lost, and kept off, 40 pounds. And I'm stronger, more flexible than ever. My depression is gone and I'm the happiest I've ever been, despite the fact that life's not always perfect. I now experience real joy every day regardless what size my thighs are. The lies we believe about ourselves deceive us. See yourself the way God sees you. In His eyes you are perfect just as you are. This truth will set you free.

Many of the "love yourself habits" in my Gratitude Challenge will ask you to go outside your comfort zone. Transformations that radically change your life start outside of your comfort zone. I must warn you upfront: These health habits bring on radical change. Do not try these unless you want to get unstuck.

I dare you to change your life and start loving yourself today. Remember to complete each one of these on its assigned day, and don't skip ahead. It's important to be a rule-follower and perform each one at its designated time. Keep in mind, outside your comfort zone is where it all begins. By practicing these health habits over the next 21 days you'll be practicing gratitude while establishing new healthy habits that will radically transform your life physically, mentally, and spiritually. Are you ready? I dare you - all it takes is 21 days to create new lasting habits.

LynFit's 21 Day Gratitude Challenge

  1. Go to bed 1 hour earlier (turn off all lighted technology). Can't sleep? Take (1) LynFit Lean Sleep.
  2. Say it out loud: "I can do this!" - Fake it until you make it. No if's, and's or but's.
  3. No alcohol all weekend. Zero. It feeds belly fat.
  4. Don't cheat this weekend. Stick to the plan.
  5. Worry about nothing, pray about everything, and pray before each meal. It will slow you down.
  6. Do the metabolic workout and walk for 60 minutes (both on the same day).
  7. Drink more water all day long and if you're already doing that - drink more.
  8. Say only positive messages all day, versus the negative ones you've been saying......."I love my legs", no matter what size they are.
  9. Drink a Protein Shake for breakfast and lunch. Go vegetarian for dinner.
  10. Exhale. Focus on your breath today. Improper breathing, holding your breath, creates big bellies. Exhale.
  11. Eat earlier tonight. Aim to eat 3-4 hours prior to bedtime.
  12. Have a LynFit Lean Bar as your lunch today versus your usual cheat food.
  13. Swap out overused over-the-counter meds (unless prescribed by a physician) that slow your metabolism and use LynFit Recovery Agent instead.
  14. Swap out the fattening fats for LynFit Pure Omega-3, the essential fat that helps you burn fat.
  15. Pay attention to portions. Don't know what they are? See "The Metabolism Solution".
  16. Don't eat between meals. Nothing - not even veggies.
  17. Walk 10,000 steps or 60 minutes. Keep this up every day after today as well.
  18. Fight back against cravings today by taking (1) LynFit Carb Edge and (1) LynFit Pure Omega-3, 30 minutes before meals.
  19. Stop negative thoughts and talk by saying nice things to yourself all day. Example: "I love myself therefore I will take care of my body".
  20. Be a blessing to 10 people today by telling them something you think is awesome about them. You get back what you put in.
  21. Eat thermogenic carbs like vegetables instead of starchy carbs that slow metabolism, like oatmeal, bread, rice, pasta and crackers.

Congratulations, you did it! Bless yourself by repeating these healthy behaviors as your normal lifestyle.

According to your Faith will it be done to you. - Matthew 9:29

My Melanoma Miracle, Part 2: Lisa Lynn

As I spoke about in Part 1 of "My Melanoma Miracle", I had a melanoma removed from my left calf in January of this year (2014). It was only through the grace of God that I insisted on the mole being removed as it showed no signs of change in shape or size. Little did I know of the attack that was coming against my body from the inside out. But God knew and He led me with that still, small voice that I am convinced radically changed my life - for the better.

I told you in Part 1 that I wanted to talk about how honoring and respecting our bodies in a whole new way - Honoring God with your Bod - will not only change your body, but your whole life forever. But this way of thinking required a period of self-adjustment for me. A way of thinking, and acting, that was not instinctive. And it all began with my attitude.....

In January, 2014 when I had the melanoma removed from my left calf my thought process changed from worry to a "grateful to be alive" attitude. I now want to honor my body and respect it in a whole new way. This new phase of my "new" life includes more gratitude and self-love than ever before. I can hear some of you saying, "You Lisa? You struggle with the same everyday issues and problems that I face"? Absolutely! I'm human just like you and struggle the same way with the same issues that you do. I was also 40 pounds overweight at one time and know first-hand that seeing what's in the mirror takes longer to fix than just losing weight. This lack of confidence is a driving force to helping others and stop the suffering we all feel when we struggle with weight and all the outside, and inside, issues that go along with it.

Today I choose to honor God with my Bod. After all, He gave this body to me, and us. Don't I/we owe it to Him to take the best possible care of it that we can? What exactly does that mean?

I believe it's crucial to stay physically fit but we also need to be spiritually fit. Fitness begins on the inside as I talk about in my book, "The Metabolism Solution" - God and Your Bod. I'm going to say something that a lot of over-exercising (aka "exercise addicts") may not like, but please bear with me for a second. When you learn that you have a deadly disease everything changes - instantly. You no longer want to kill and torture yourself in the gym, which is what we feel we need to do as that is something we have "control" over. Our affliction or disease - not so much. Suddenly it's not about perfect thighs or weight. It's about being able to live to see your kids grow up!

Too often, the reason we "feel" we need to torture ourselves in the gym anyway is because we ate too much. Eating clean and exercising daily is the goal, not abusive types of workouts that leave us drained physically and emotionally. God is not pleased when we abuse our bodies - in any way. Every abusive action, thought or belief affects us in some way or another. It's critical that you are in touch with your inner self to learn what's driving you and your desires. Is it out of love? Out of fear? Here is a new way to begin thinking, if you don't already. It applies to your feelings and how you treat your body, and others as well:

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I can tell you with certainty, love never fails! Especially when it comes to changing your body.

I still face lots of questions today about "my future". And I'm sure you have questions about yourself and your future. That's why I want to share with you my "bullet proof" plan. Why do I call this time in my life "My Melanoma Miracle"? It's because I've seen first-hand that God can take a paralyzing fear and turn it into a faith so strong that nothing can stand against it. So, here are a few spiritual exercises that will strengthen your faith muscles and radically transform your body:

Form a Miracle Prayer Network/Group of at Least 8 People

Don't have one? I didn't either until now. This step is a necessity regardless of what you have to overcome. I chose to initially only share my story with people who I knew would lift me up daily, versus allowing me to stay stuck in fear and negativity. People I could trust would pray daily for me without being asked. Texting is a great way to send reminders daily. I send out a text message at 5am daily to my network to get the prayers going, and you know what - it works! Try it - you'll see. What have you got to lose?

By the way, if you find it hard to find those 8 people it just might be an indicator that you need to surround yourself with more positive people who really care - for you.

Get Off the Self-Pity Pot Squats

This is where I get stuck. I turned to my pastors and close prayer partners right away to help keep me off the pity party mentality. Pity parties don't work because they're usually attended by others of the same mentality that enable you to feel sorry for yourself and allow fear to gain a stronghold. Believe me, that's the last thing you want.

Stop Complaining and Start Praising

One of my all-time favorite preachers, Joyce Meyer, has a saying; "if you complain you will remain". Remember that love and gratitude never fails. Love wins every time and will make you feel better instantly. Gratitude shouldn't be an every-know-and-then occurrence. It should be a way of life, no matter what you face. Remember the old proverb, "I complained that I had no shoes, until I met someone who had no feet"? Can't think of anything to be grateful for? That's proof you're out of practice.

Exercise or Move Each Day - Your Life Depends On It

It's crucial to keep your body in working order by moving them each day to stop blood clots form forming and to detox. Yet if you're suffering from any disease, or you're not feeling good, remember that you do need to move moderately. Moderate exercise boosts immunity while over-exercising weakens it. There are plenty of exercises you can do when you're sick. Bottom line - do something.

If you need a workout be sure to check out my DVDs or the workout in my book. It's loaded with pictures and easy to follow. If you're chair-bound you can sit while doing almost all of the exercises.

Let Go and Let God, or Be Dragged Down

Whatever is bugging you - give it to God. Living in fear - no matter what you're facing is always full of stress. Even in those situations where you have no control you must stay faithful and keep you faith muscles strong so you can handle what may come your way. And the best way to strengthen the faith muscles........by bending your knees!

I hope that my sharing the past couple of weeks inspires you in a whole new way to take care of your body - inside and out. Never take your health for granted. That includes physical and spiritual as both need to be fed and maintained. Stay in touch with your yourself so you know what "normal" is.

I urge each of you to consider donating to the Yale Plastic Surgery and Melanoma Research Fund HERE. They are doing incredible research that will save lives. Please watch the video below to learn more.

But most of all.....

Stay Strong, Live Fearlessly, and God Bless You All!

Decide, Dream and Get Going: Janine's Story

I'd love to introduce you to Janine; a very special lady who overcame just about every obstacle imaginable to lose 85 pounds. Today, she is happier and more fit than she could have ever imagined. Her story is one of perseverance, physical and emotional growth. Here, in her own words, is Janine's weight loss and life changing lifestyle journey:

____________________________________________________________________

"When I look at my picture and life before Lisa Lynn and LynFit I know the pain behind the eyes and the facade of a smile. That smile - you know it - the one we learn to put on, hiding behind it, and hoping others will not see the pain we keep inside. I was trapped in the labyrinth of wrongful thoughts about myself, letting life's abuses and hurts define me.

I had spent most of my life as a prisoner to those abuses and hurts, while at the same time keeping my own secrets well hidden. I was full of anger, self-loathing, condemnation and absolutely no self-esteem whatsoever. I was living my own "Groundhog Day". Every day a rerun of; "you'll never amount to anything", "never be good enough", "you can't do it" and "who do you think you are?" Even more disturbing; knowing that as a Christian I should believe I am accepted as God's own, made in His own image. But I had worked myself into the belief that I was not good enough with a list of self-imposed standards. Acceptance was not on my mind.

Unfortunately, obesity and my mindset were not my only issue. I suffered from a long list of conditions and ailments; resulting in limitations and having to pace myself in doing ordinarily simple daily household tasks. When I reached out to Lisa in an email I was at a point where I had lost all hope and my personal strength and courage was reserved for just getting out of bed. Lisa said, "Don't worry; all you have to do is decide". That day, that single day in so many days of utter hopelessness, I decided! Lisa spent time with me making changes to the food journals I would send her. In no time my stuck metabolism was moving. Finally, I found a sense of hope for my weight loss.

But, as everyday normal life would have it, I was still sabotaging myself, and though I was down 30 pounds, I hit rock bottom, on the inside. Oh the weight loss program was working alright - but I had yet to change the most important aspect of my life - how I felt about myself. I was continuing that same old pattern of turning to food to give myself 20 seconds of comfort. Those 20 seconds would lead to a limitless amount of guilt and a feeling of worthlessness. I think that's important to remember; physical fitness, weight loss, physical training, they're all wonderful and should be practiced and maintained. But it's who we are on the inside that eventually makes its way outward into our external existence. Like an addiction that comes back after a period of being clean, I would be in worse shape than I was initially. I again reached out to Lisa for help. This time, to work on me from "the inside out".

A cheerleader, mentor, mother, sister, listener and most importantly; a mender. All of those apply to Lisa. She cheered me on, she taught me the "how and what", she offered unsolicited advice, laughed with me and cried with me. But most of all, she allowed me the freedom to learn who I was and to love who I was, as God loves me. She bandaged a deeply wounded spirit with true Godly wisdom and a Christian spirit. She proved to me that I was worth it!

My life today is very different than what I described in the first couple of paragraphs. I have now lost 85 pounds; have a new hope, exuberant joy, and the peace that only a mended soul can bring. I am gluten-free, continue to eat right, work out almost every day between cardio, and lift weights.

Here are a few pointers that have helped me in my journey. They just may help you as well:

  • Journal everything you eat. As Lisa says, "if you bite it, write it". This is extremely important if you're someone like me who eats her feelings. If you don't journal your bad eating moments then you'll never learn where or when your triggers are. And, I've learned from experience, if you reach out to Lisa for help the first thing she will ask you to do is to journal your food - no excuses.
  • Have veggies out while cooking dinner. I learned that I was sampling much of the meal while preparing it and then turned right around and would eat a full meal. If you're going to snack while preparing a meal let it be on veggies instead.
  • Prepare everything ahead of time (as much as possible). Have bags of veggies ready to grab every time you leave the house, even if you don't think you'll need them. You always drive by places that tempt you. Grab some veggies instead.
  • Set out a container with the proper amount of water to consume for the day. It will constantly remind you. Also, have decaf green tea and lemons around for those times when you're getting bored and the hunger bug starts gnawing.
  • Move every day no matter how you think and feel. Your body doesn't get a vote - it's not a democracy. I struggle with this but manage to do it anyway.
  • Ask for help! Throw away the notion that you can do this by yourself or have the willpower within yourself - you don't! I had to learn that God was bigger than a bag of potato chips, block of cheese, latte, or whatever whim I was on that particular day. I couldn't learn that on my own. I had to reach out to others to help lead me through it.
  • Talk with your family. I had to talk with my family, asking them to keep their comments positive. I had many aspects of my life to deal with and over time when the "high" of being on a program faded I needed all the family support I could get. You may find this the hardest part of your new lifestyle, especially after the initial thrust of your program. Let your support system help you deal with the natural emotions that occur or they may keep you from obtaining your ultimate success.

Lisa created an amazing program and it works! Don't try and reinvent the wheel and spend hours wondering why something does or doesn't work. She's already done that for you. I would encourage you to get her book, The Metabolism Solution, and change your life.

But above everything else, I would say - It's time to believe YOU are worth fighting for - So today, Decide, Dream and Get Going!"

_____________________________________________________________________

I think Janine has touched on some real-life issues when it comes to a weight loss or fitness makeover. That is one of the reasons any success story you see here is real-life with real people and real results. Even the before and after photos are real. No Photoshop to make someone appear heavier. Real people who have obtained real results without surgery or professional training. Nope, these people did it at home simply by following the metabolic boosting plan found in The Metabolism Solution.

Nix Joint Pain And Fatigue While Boosting Mood

We all suffer with sore, painful joints and low energy which affects our mood at one time or another. Whether it is from stress, over-use, injury, arthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, or maybe you're healing from surgery or an illness. Whatever the cause, your body needs additional nutritional support to heal and repair, from the inside out. When our bodies are sick or under stress (weight loss and exercise both cause stress) our nutrient needs are increased and diet is almost never enough to bring results.

Medications that stop us from feeling pain can also stop the healing process and slow the metabolism, which keeps us from losing weight. It's always best to take a holistic approach and that's where LynFit Recovery Agent comes in.

LynFit Recovery Agent is a combination of 16 of the highest quality ingredients in exactly the amount your body needs to be effective. Researchers have discovered that when certain nutrients are combined in a concentrated form (like found in LynFit Recovery Agent) they are more powerful. It is a multivitamin and joint, pain protector wrapped into one. We all need to prevent injuries and joint pain from happening in the first place, so it's best to provide your body with what it needs to keep your joints supple and pliable, keeping pain away.

LynFit Recovery Agent is a powerful, yet safe effective supplement that utilizes the body's multiple pathways and systems to promote aggressive healing and recovery to fight the inflammation that causes pain; arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis or any "itis" for that matter. It can relieve it without hurting your metabolism.

The highly effective nutrients found in LynFit Recovery Agent not only help relieve your pain and suffering, they may also help reduce cravings for alcohol and sugar. Clean out your liver clogging medicine cabinet and start reaching for natural alternatives. Be sure to drink lots of fresh water and keep your diet high in healing foods like the LynFit Complete Protein Shake or Lean Bar and salmon. Be sure to eat your 10 servings of vegetables every day but minimize night shade vegetables as they have been known to cause inflammation. Night shade vegetables are potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant and peppers, to name a few. More information on these vegetables can be found in my soon to be released book.

Ten Reasons You Need LynFit Recovery Agent:
  • Boosts your body's immune function and response
  • Protects your body from free radical damage
  • Helps reduce and relieve pain and inflammation
  • Helps your body absorb calcium more efficiently and helps prevent bone loss
  • Helps keep your body flexible and pliable
  • Helps you feel better and gives you more energy faster
  • Helps put the brakes on aging
  • Helps the body handle stress
  • Improves circulation and increases blood flow
  • Helps boost mood - you'll feel better fast!

I recommend taking LynFit Recovery Agent as soon as you wake up and again if needed immediately after your workout to replace nutrients. Make sure to read the product label for the correct dosage.

Crave Less This Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day; the one day of the year we want to feel good about ourselves, feel loved, and show love. Sadly, our overeating and struggles with cravings can make us feel just the opposite!

If you're overweight chances are you struggle with cravings and almost never feel full. According to a new study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, obese people are out of luck when it comes to suppressing the hunger hormone. Researchers discovered that the glucagon hormone, which is secreted by the body's pancreas and known to help control blood sugar levels and increase feelings of satiety after meals, had no effect on obese participants in the study. Researchers concluded that once a person becomes obese, glucagon cannot suppress the appetite or induce feelings of fullness.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention, an obese individual is one whose body mass index (BMI) is 30 or higher. The CDC also reports that the number of obese adults in the United States is nearly 40% of the population while the number of obese and overweight adults is nearly 70%!

I know from my own personal experience that lacking energy and feeling depressed and bored were the top 2 reasons I overate and struggled with cravings. My #1 goal with anyone who needs to lose weight and struggles with cravings and fatigue is to get them to feel good first so they have the energy to make a lifestyle change that melts away fat from their waistline. When we feel better we crave less and eat better too.

Here are my top recommendations for proven Feel Good Nutrition and Exercise techniques:

Morning Energy and Mood Booster that melts fat

Take (1) LynFit Accelerator with Raspberry Ketones, Green Tea and the super star ingredient Chocolate Bean Powder. These proven ingredients when combined are even more effective at boosting mood and lowering blood sugar to help reduce cravings while increasing energy, so you feel like exercising. Not only that, but you'll see the fat melt thanks to the Raspberry Ketones' fat burning properties.

Lisa Trick: Take (1) LynFit Acclerator in the morning as soon as you wake up or 30 minutes before your workout. If you're really struggling take another at 12 noon. You can even open the capsule and empty the contents into your LynFit Complete Protein Shake in the morning!

Boost Energy and Mood and Turbocharge your weight loss with the right exercise

Add Metabolic Boosting exercise in place of your regular/usual workout first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Exercise can turbocharge your fat loss and weight loss if you're doing the right kind. I always suggest that people switch to metabolism boosting exercise to get results faster and in only 30 minutes, 3 times a week. If you want to see results within the first week and turbocharge your weight loss try my Metabolic Booster 1 and 2 or Power 30 workout, as well as my new Fat Blaster which can be done every other day.

My favorite routine every week is:

Monday: Metabolic Booster 1 workout
Tuesday: Fat Blaster workout
Wednesday: Metabolic Booster 2 workout
Thursday: Lean Core workout
Friday: Power 30 workout
Saturday: Lean Core workout
Sunday: Recovery Stretch workout

I always add cardiovascular every day as you need both for maximum weight loss, especially if you struggle with a low thyroid. I ride my recumbent bike or walk on the treadmill every day for 30-45 minutes as I have a very slow metabolism and I'm not always perfect with my eating. I actually enjoy it now and look forward to my exercise time. I can do it at home and I hate missing a workout. When I do it just doesn't feel right.

This winning combination/workout system has allowed me to keep the 40 pounds off that I lost over 20 years ago and keep up with the mid-life battle of the bulge and WIN! I have never gotten injured working out like this whereas other programs always caused me some sort of issue that stopped me from working out which dampened my mood. I love that I get double the results in 1/2 the time a gym workout gives me. Who doesn't get happy hearing that?

Boost Mood and Energy with LynFit Pure Omega-3 at 3pm

Popping the LynFit Pure Omega-3 supplement at 3pm can keep you feeling full throughout the afternoon "craving hour", and according to researchers, people with high levels of Omega-3's have lower levels of depression. Fish oil also seems to boost the effects of anti-depressants and may help reduce the depressive symptoms of bipolar disorder.

But not all Omega-3's are created equal so if you're not seeing or feeling the results you need LynFit's Pure Omega-3. It's the highest quality Omega-3 you can buy, not to mention that it contains the exact amount of DHA and EPA your body needs to see and feel results. Further, it is purified to remove any possible contaminants, unlike other commercially bought Omega-3 supplements. It doesn't contain any saturated fats or fats you don't need or want. You simply cannot find a better Omega-3!

Note: Have some old Omega-3 laying around from another company? Check to make sure it has at least 500 each of DHA and EPA or it's not worth it. Also make sure that it's free of saturated fats. If not, throw it away. It's not worth taking and can actually cause more harm than good!

Evening Energy and Mood Booster that support weigh loss

Who doesn't love chocolate? Especially around Valentine's Day! We all want to eat chocolate and lose weight, right? Well now you can. LynFit's Chocolate Lean Bar (customers say that it tastes like a tootsie roll) makes the perfect snack when you're trying to lose weight and melt fat. Having a Lean Bar at night instead of your usual snack will also help you maintain your energy naturally without affecting your sleep. I refer to this as my Chocolate Diet, especially since I can be kind of a "chocoholic"!

The Lean Bar (or Chocolate Complete Protein Shake) will help boost metabolism because of the high quality whey used, which helps lower stress levels while increasing your "focus". Snacking on a healthy Lean Bar or Complete Protein Shake also keeps you alert after eating it and helps you to get through the evening without the typical weight gain "snack attack" because they make you feel better and helps you to function when you're the most tired.

LynFit uses de-fatted cocoa in its Chocolate Lean Bar and Complete Protein Shake which is not only better for weight loss because it doesn't contain excess fat like regular chocolate, but it's also high in flavanoids which have health benefits. A study found that the flavanoids found in high quality cocoa increase blood flow to the brain for 2-3 hours, helping to fight fatigue so you can get that work done that you brought home at the end of the day or to shuttle you kids to their games at night.

Eat Chocolate, Cut Cravings and Feel Better

Being hungry and craving sweets are two of the main reasons people fall off their diets. In many cases, the real reasons for cravings sweets or thinking we are hungry is because we don’t feel good. I refer to this as a funk, and in some cases, depression. There is a scientific reason for this. The good news is that knowing why you crave comfort foods can also help you resist them. The solution is getting you to feel better and properly nourishing your body to stop cravings before they begin. So, what’s behind the cravings? It all starts with serotonin.

Produced by your brain, serotonin is the “feel good” hormone. When your brain produces enough of it, serotonin can help you feel calm, confident and happy. Sunshine stimulates our brains to produce plenty of serotonin, but during the short days of fall and winter, our brains need extra stimulation to produce enough serotonin. This may be why we crave things like bread, crackers, cereal and sweets, especially chocolate, because they stimulate serotonin production.

There are other things you can do to boost serotonin, even if you have craved the wrong foods your whole life. Be patient if you’re someone who has always craved the wrong things or can’t stick to a diet – this can be fixed!

6 Ways to Boost Your Serotonin and Stop Cravings

  1. Place 6 drops of oxytocin under your tongue within 1 hour of waking to help combat the stress hormones that are making you crave the wrong foods. You will feel better right away and may even want to exercise. Oxytocin blunts the secretion of the stress hormone cortisol and that will help melt fat around your waist.
  2. Exercise every day to boost your endorphins and support serotonin production. Your workouts will help you stay grounded because you will feel better instantly! The best kinds of workouts are not slow weightlifting workouts but metabolic-boosting workouts. And you don't have to kill yourself either!
  3. Eat your greens! Meeting your body’s nutrient requirements is the secret to your success. Aim for 6 servings of vegetables per day. They are full of fiber and are unlimited free foods that will help stop cravings and keep you feeling full so you don’t overeat on the wrong things!
  4. Drink yourself happy! No – not alcohol. A high-quality whey protein shake with at least 1000mg of glutamine can boost your brain power and help you feel better fast without stimulants. This is one of the most important life-changing steps that everyone can do every day to not only help you lose weight but to keep it off. The glutamine in the shake can help ease depression. If you could only use one supplement, I suggest the protein shake. Look for 24 grams of protein, no fat, low sugar and low carbs.
  5. Meditate or pray daily. Cultivate a habit of prayer or meditation every day to quiet your mind and reduce stress. If you’re having trouble, grab a good book to read each day. Even 5 minutes can make a big difference. One of my favorite books is Turn It Around by Pastor Frank Santora. Just like the title says, you can turn it around and sometimes all we need is faith! Remember that our physical lives are not separate from our "spiritual" lives; in fact, they are one. Almost always, we neglect this crucial step because we are busy or too tired, and it’s the most important step to our health and well-being!
  6. Eat chocolate every day! Choose chocolate that is at least 70% cacao. Dark chocolate also boosts the feel-good hormones and you’re less likely to overeat dark chocolate because it’s not full of sugar like milk chocolate. Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants and gives us a feeling of doing something good for ourselves.
