It Worked For Her, It Can Work For You: A Life Changing Transformation

My life's mission is to help anyone who struggles with weight loss by teaching them how to avoid the pitfalls and diet traps I fell into. I am thrilled to share this makeover with you. You may recognize this special lady from being on the cover of my book, "The Metabolism Solution". I'd like to tell you why I chose her. I get thousands of stories submitted showing dramatic transformations, but this one was very different. You see Janine faced every obstacle possible and any one of them could have stopped her from losing weight and getting fit. Instead, she decided to fight this battle and was willing to do whatever it took: Full surrender, all in 100%. And guess what? She has lost 85 pounds and dropped 8 pants sizes, despite the fact that she suffered with chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and debilitating pain from rheumatoid arthritis. She could barely get off the couch, let alone exercise.

Janine hated herself. Can you relate? I can. She saw me on the Dr. Oz Show and decided to email me for help. This is the very reason why I answer all of my emails. Chicken Soup for the Metabolism

Ingredients:
(8) cups chicken stock or fat free, lower sodium chicken broth
(2) cups diagonally sliced carrots
(1) cup chopped onion
½ teaspoon black pepper
(2) 4oz. skinless, bone in chicken thighs
(1) 12oz. skinless, bone in chicken breast half
(2) cups diagonally sliced celery
½ teaspoon Kosher salt
Celery leaves (optional)

Directions:
Combine stock and chicken in a large pot over medium-high heat, bringing to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. Remove chicken from the pot and let stand for 10 minutes. Remove chicken from the bones and shred meat into bite-sized pieces. Discard bones. 
Add carrots, celery and onion to pot; cover and simmer for about 10 minutes. Add chicken, salt and black pepper. Cook until done and add celery leaves if desired.

Melt Belly Fat Without Ever Going To The Gym

Side Core RaiseLying on your side on your elbows, lift your body off the floor using your core. Too hard? Use an arm or leg to help out. Be sure to keep your body in a straight line. You can do this against a wall at first to be sure you stay in proper alignment.
Perform 2-3 sets of 12-15 repetitions - No weight needed.



Working the core so your abs get flatter is more than doing abdominal work. It also means you need to work the stabilizing muscles which help keep us upright and help with better posture. In order to work these muscles we need to work all of the muscles of the core including the buttocks and lower back.


Butt-Lifter | Posture-Correcting Rear Fly

Rear FlyLying face down with your arms out to the side (like a bird) and squeezing your buttocks together tightly, raise your upper body off of the floor using your lower back muscles as if your were reverse flying.
Perform 2-3 sets of 12-15 repetitions. To make it more difficult use 2-3 pound hand weights.

4 Simple Disciplines To Melt Belly Fat

The word discipline means to delay gratification. Discipline is your friend and shouldn't be avoided. It's a tool to help us get what we want, but in a way that is beneficial rather than harmful. In order to be successful in losing weight - getting us what we want - every area of our life needs discipline and self-control.

All of that sounds fine and easy. But when the rubber meets the road, or rather when the foot hits the scale, there are some decisions that must be made for us to successfully introduce discipline into our lives. Discipline means advance planning in a number areas: Food, sleep, how you spend your time; these are just a few areas that we have to practice advance planning in. You need a rock solid plan to stick to and you need to know when substitutions are necessary and what they are so you won't get caught off guard. I believe this plan of discipline will lead you to lasting weight loss and vibrant health.

Discipline also means planning your pain (workouts) and your pleasure (your cheat days). It's vital that you are honest with yourself when planning. Not being able to be honest with yourself is where most of the problems lie. In 25 years I've never had anyone journal what their "bad eating days" were truly like. They always tend to fudge a little or conveniently forget exactly what their eating day was like. Yet they can't figure out why they can't lose weight. We should be as honest about our cheat days as we are proud of our perfect eating days.

Willpower is a muscle. Just like any other muscle, it must be worked to be made strong. If we don't exercise it it cannot withstand the constant pressure of everyday unplanned living that we put on it; to the point that it eventually tears, breaks or falls apart. The sad part is that when our willpower tears, breaks or falls apart, so too do our dreams in many cases. Remember what we said in the very first paragraph - "discipline is a tool to help us get what we want in a beneficial way that is never harmful"? No discipline + no willpower = faded dreams and lost hope.

But here's the best news - perfection doesn't exist! That's right, I said it - perfection doesn't exist. Because the thing about discipline is that it doesn't recognize failure. That's why you mentally and physically plan ahead so that when imperfection occurs you're ready for it and your discipline kicks in knowing that, hey okay, this is that blip that I knew beforehand was going to happen. Now, on to the next positive milestone!

As much discipline as we do need, it alone is not enough. Just as a car needs an engine for it to even start, it has to have some vital fluids and maintenance to keep it running smoothly. Here are 4 things, that in addition to having the discipline engine engaged, can accelerate your weight loss:

Go to bed at the same time everyday

With school starting back this is the perfect time to visit this area of your life. And, it is one area that can usually be planned pretty regularly. Any disruption in the routine, even small ones, can result in a restless night. Sleep is when our bodies naturally recover from the day's activities and stresses.

And what do we do when we can't sleep - we reach for that over-the-counter sleep aid. Use Your Travel Time As A Cleansing Time

It doesn't matter whether you're driving or flying, you aren't exercising and need fewer calories, so eat less. Personally, I get motion sick, so I don't eat while traveling to and from while flying or driving if possible. For those extra-long flights or drives, I only eat a LynFit Lean Bar and drink loads of water.

Don't Be Afraid To Be Hungry - It's Good For You

Whatever we keep in our environment is what we'll eat so don't stock up on munchies. No one needs to be eating all day long. Not even your kids. Here's a "Lisa Yummy Trick".....I give my Complete Protein to the bartender at the hotel and ask him or her to blend it up for me. I love it with ice and coffee - a Lean Mocha. This way I don't feel deprived at all. In fact, there have been times when the people standing around the bar have asked for a taste and didn't believe it was healthy.

Go On The Seafood Diet And Double Your Weight Loss

If you have read my book, "The Metabolism Solution", you learned that eating more fish or particular types of fish, compared to chicken, doubles your weight loss.

You can have a Complete Protein Shake for breakfast to boost your metabolism 25 percent (did you know the shake did that?) and offset the "not-so-good" calories we all end up eating from time to time. Then for lunch you can have a tossed salad with no cheese and use vinegar as your dressing with some shrimp for a light enjoyable meal. 

Dinner should be about fish, salad, and vegetables. You should try to eat early. After all, it's your vacation, so you have control. Eat early the way our bodies are designed to and go to bed hungry! If you don't wake up hungry in the morning, you ate too much. If you have to, split an entree and if all else fails just have salad and a shrimp cocktail versus an entree with sides that may tempt you.

Turbocharge Your Weight Loss Without Stepping Foot In The Gym

I like to get up early and exercise or take the time while my family is eating a "hearty" breakfast to exercise. This also gives the downtime we all need when traveling with our families. Spending time alone to get grounded, or as I like to call it - regulated, allows me to be a better parent and also teaches our kids and families that we all need quiet time, especially when our eating habits are out of control.

This is a great "time-in" that allows you to give yourself a pep talk and clear your mind to get your eating back on track. I like to take walks outside while on vacation, going longer and slower than I normally would to allow myself time to sight see. I never feel like I'm not enjoying it.

I also do my Metabolic Booster workout in my room while waiting for my hair to dry or for slow teens to get out of the shower. I use water bottles or rolled-up washcloths and focus on form. If needed, I'll do extra repetitions until I feel the burn. I get better workouts this way. 

Most hotels have or will bring you a DVD player so bring your DVDs. Better yet, download them onto your laptop or IPad and do the workouts in comfort and at your own pace. This is how the celebrities do it! Don't forget to get all the LynFit Metabolic downloads you'll need before you leave.

Remember, 90 percent of your weight loss is diet so even if you don't work out yet manage to keep your food clean you'll still lose weight. If you don't exercise and don't eat clean, then weight gain is unavoidable.

I use every opportunity I get as a way to eat healthier and sleep more versus eating poor and sleeping less. These behaviors are what get us in trouble in the first place. To see changes we need to make changes. Make this new routine your new normal, even when you get back home, and just watch what happens!

Here's a little bonus tip: Don't eat "off-plan" or cheat until your last day so you can't develop a new bad habit. I cheat (yes me) on my last day on any vacation. This is when I try new foods and experience the culture. If all else fails, remember the three-bite rule: You can always take three bites of something if you want to try it. Most of the time three bites will cost you about 100 calories that aren't enough to make you gain weight.

Fit Minute Exercise Drills



No time to work out? No problem, you only need a minute. If you need more ideas for squeezing fitness into your busy day the Fit Minute is for you.

No more excuses – anyone can find a minute and the best part is there's no gym or fancy equipment needed. All you need is the desire to get fit and a pair of dumbbells. You can improvise using water bottles or books if you’re traveling and don’t have dumbbells. These moves are great if you spend a lot of time sitting in front of a computer at work or home because it contains corrective exercises that help strengthen the muscles that reverse poor posture.

Our hectic lives wreak havoc on your posture, which by the way can make you look fitter even when you’re not. This is a secret that celebrities know and pay a lot more attention to when working out because they need to look their best.

This Fit Minute exercise routine will take you through five exercises that work major muscle groups. They have been carefully planned so you get the maximum benefits in the least amount of time.
