Stress Less: Change Begins With Healthier Habits

Today’s fast-paced world causes stress levels to soar to unhealthy levels. Some stress is good, but if it becomes unbalanced, stress levels can affect our health — physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Don’t think you're stressed? Here are the top signs your body is being affected, followed by a few healthy habits that you can incorporate into the daily routine that will improve every aspect of your life, as well as the people around you. Even the dog will notice the happy vibe!

  • Depression: You don’t feel like exercising or eating clean (aka don’t even care though you know it’s good for you and can help make you feel better).
  • Anxiety/Irritability: You eat out of anxiety and can’t stop eating once you start. Many people struggle with this and don’t even know it. When they begin to eat clean things can become even worse (the solution is not to stop trying but address the underlying issue, so your symptoms go away or are relieved).
  • Low sex drive or no sex drive: Yes, it’s true, if we don’t feel “lovingly” toward others it’s a sign our body is overstressed. It’s not just about sex, rather, it’s about our internal feelings, and God wants us to be loving toward each other like He is toward us (menopausal ladies and "manopausal" men, there is more help and hope than you think).
  • Memory and concentration problems: 'Nuff said...
  • Compulsive behavior: I’m the queen of this club (not proud, just sayin'). I couldn’t get my food in order until I realized this about myself and accept it, so I knew how to deal with it. Try to follow your healthy meal without going off; you’ll quickly realize what’s driving your unhealthy habits.

Classic signs of a highly-stressed person include:

  • Overeating
  • Drinking
  • Smoking
  • Vaping
  • Gambling
  • Excessive shopping
  • Over-exercising
  • Excessive worry
  • Mood swings

Everything we do affects our outcomes physically, mentally, and spiritually. You can’t separate them. Our habits, combined with today’s stress levels, have either a positive or negative impact. I don’t know about you, but life is hard enough, so I choose healthier habits to reduce my stress, not add to it.

Here are a couple things I do to help my body handle stress and naturally help balance cortisol levels. Smart, strategic use of safe, nourishing supplements can help address the underlying issues causing health problems. This is how I put my oxygen mask on when a stressful moment occurs.

  • I do it anyway. I act according to my plan even, and especially when, I don’t feel like it. It’s when I need it most and I'm never sorry.
  • I walk first thing every morning on the treadmill, so I’m never hindered by weather or darkness. While I’m walking and fully attentive, I read my daily Christian devotional, watch Joyce Meyer and pray for my family, friends, and all of you. Then, I send out a prayer to my Power Prayer Group.

I address everything with my health holistically, meaning physical as shown above, spiritual as shown above, and I use the following nutrients (they are all-natural and loaded with the specific nutrients our body needs, especially when stressed!

I also take these supplements before I get on the treadmill:

After my Power Praise and walk (which can last 75 or more minutes if I have time and because I’m a little slow in the morning), I have my Clean Chocolate Cappuccino (this also allows me to fast for at least 12 hours every night) and take the following supplements:

Mid-morning and mid-afternoon I take these supplements:

And yes, of course, I have another Complete Protein Shake made to suit my cravings. At the moment, I usually make a Fat Burning Flat White Froth (no caffeine for me after my one cup early in the morning because it keeps me up at night and adds to my stress levels). I do take another (1) Cutting Edge but I skip another Accelerator Advanced unless I’m really low on energy.

Lately, I’ve added a Lean Bar to my Fat Burning Flat White at lunch because I migrated toward three meals (two shakes and huge vegetable salad for dinner) as a regular health routine since I’ve turned 50. It’s helped me to stop thinking about food all day, prevents me from making poor choices based on my emotions versus what my body needs, and I no longer miss meals. This has really been working on every level for me. If your struggling, try it.

I’ve never been so on track and I really enjoy what I’m eating more than I ever have in my life. My weight has never been more stable so I’m sticking to it!

Since I mentioned sleep — my sleep hygiene (yes, there is such a thing) is:

Whoever said I’m high maintenance had no clue how right they were, but since I’ve been living this healthier, cleaner lifestyle (always making sure I keep God in the center of everything I do) I’ve never been healthier or happier.

That’s my daily ritual and my testimony. Remember, when God fights your battles the result is always victory.

Stay Strong and God Bless You! If you need help we are here, please let us know how we can help physically, mentally, or spiritually. All LynFit team members are also prayer warriors 🙌🏽🙏
