All you need is love. Christmas is a time for giving and feeling love and warm, fuzzy feelings. What does love have to do with getting healthy and fit? Everything. Loving others and loving yourself is the #1 change that will transform everything in your life; especially impacting how you eat cleanly and take care of your entire body - inside and out - guaranteed.

Love is _________________. Can you answer that? Love is how you treat yourself and others. If you're not moving or exercising every day and eating nutritious foods you're not loving yourself. It all starts with you. The Bible says you've gotta walk the love walk every day and it starts by getting up early and moving. True confession - I'm not a morning person. This may shock some, but I love my bed and sleep more than anything. I do most of my exercising in the early hours of the morning. Doing so forces me to go to bed earlier and it makes me feel so much better that I wouldn't dream of starting my day any other way. At first exercising in the morning began as a concession to being very busy and scheduling around the constraints of my daily life. I quickly realized however that there are some incredibly helpful benefits to learning to love exercising in the morning.

Taking this first step is life changing. Here is how to start learning to love morning exercise, even if you're not a morning person. I have to warn you though: This may motivate you and negate every excuse in the book.

5 Reasons For Getting Up Early And Exercising:

  1. Early morning exercise jump starts your metabolism, keeping it elevated for hours; sometimes up to 24 hours. So you'll be burning more calories all day.
  2. Exercising in the morning gives you instant energy for the day; not to mention how awesome you'll feel. You'll also feel accomplished and disciplined. Those are highly gratifying feelings that produce more good behavior - habits that stick.
  3. Studies have shown that exercise significantly increases mental acuity. A benefit that lasts 4-10 hours after your workout ends. Exercising in the morning means you get to harness that brainpower instead of wasting it while you're snoozing.
  4. If you're an excuse maker, morning exercise needs to be top priority. It's not as hard as you think to get up 30-60 minutes earlier; especially since regular morning exercise generally means better sleep quality, which means you'll probably require less sleep while sleeping better. If getting up 30-60 minutes earlier each day seems too big, ease into it with 10-20 minutes at first.
  5. Exercising at the same time every morning, especially if you wake up regularly at about the same time, regulates your body's endocrine system and circadian rhythms. You're teaching your body that you do the same thing every day at the same time and your body quickly learns (you'll notice a habit forming the first week) to begin preparing you for waking and exercising a few hours before you even open your eyes. This is especially beneficial when it comes to weight loss and melting belly fat because:
    • Your body's not stressed by erratic, ever changing wake-up and sleep schedules which makes waking up early easier and less painful. Eventually you won't need an alarm clock. This will make you feel more energized and ready to exercise when you do wake up.
    • Hormones prepare your body for exercise by regulating blood pressure, heart rate, blood flow to muscles, etc., which help wake you up. Your metabolism and the hormones involved/required for exercise (especially metabolic exercise) begin to elevate while you're sleeping.

Just about everyone who has switched from random exercise times to early exercise agree that it helps regulate their appetite for the rest of the day. Not only do they crave less, they say it makes eating less easier to do. Why? Activity causes the release of endorphins which instantly makes us happier and diminishes appetite, unless you over-exercise. Early morning exercisers also claim they are able to choose healthier portions of healthier foods, and that's always a good thing. Early morning successful exercisers all agree exercise becomes something they actually crave and look forward to every day. This is the ultimate act of self-love because they have the satisfaction of taking care of themselves physically and for most of us busy moms, mentally as well. It's also a great time to plan and prepare for your day. For me, it's prayer time, which helps me think more clearly. Things most of us don't get to do if we choose to stay in bed.

Early morning exercise is the best, most successful way to fool-proof or ensure that other things don't derail your day before it even starts. It's the best way to ensure that you don't miss your exercise, especially if you're a busy mom with a hectic schedule.

I dare you to make a commitment to yourself for the next month and be the first to get up in your house. I promise that you'll never be sorry. WARNING: You're 90% more likely to skip your exercise if you don't do it first thing. It's too easy to wimp out in the evening when we're tired or faced with such tasks as rustling up dinner and helping with homework. You may need to step outside your comfort zone. I sure had to push myself and I'm glad I did. Love yourself by doing this.

Lisa Tip: Attention all you late night owls: You can fake it until you make it by tricking yourself in the morning. Drink a huge glass of water and take a LynFit Lean Sleep before you head to bed. Could Those 2 Glasses of Wine Be Affecting My Weight Loss?In short - yes those 2 glasses of wine could be stopping your weight loss dead in its tracks; especially if you're a female and over 40. If it's a slimmer waistline you're after it's either wine or your waistline. And with us now being in the middle of the holiday season there's not even an excuse needed to drink it. It's almost as if it's expected of you at the various holiday parties.

But it's not just the holiday parties that impact us when it comes to alcohol consumption. I meet so many people all throughout the year who defend their nightly glass of Merlot and refuse to take it out of their diet all the while ranting about how they just can't lose those last pounds or get rid of that spare tire around their middle. They argue that wine has nutritional value and contains minerals and antioxidants. So do vegetables - and a lot more of them. 

Wine is a big factor when it comes to belly fat. Why is that? Because wine has almost double the amount of carbs as sugars. Wine is a glass full of liquid calories that goes straight to your waistline. A single glass of wine can contain from 9 to 19 grams of carbs per serving. Flavored wines can have even more. And who follows those serving sizes anyway when pouring a glass. In fact, do you even know what the serving size is? 

In some cases a slightly sweet and low-alcohol wine may have fewer calories than a dry, high-alcohol wine. But you'd be hard pressed to know for sure since wine doesn't come with nutritional labels. For that matter, neither do other alcohol products. No calorie counts, no grams of carbohydrates, not even serving size suggestions. Guess why - because wine and liquors are not considered part of a daily diet. They are not required to by law. Perhaps labels should be required. Oh you can dig around the internet to find some calorie and "nutritional" information, but wouldn't it be much easier if it were right there on the bottle?

When it comes to a glass of wine, which is a 6 ounce serving, calories can range anywhere from just over 100 (for a sweet, low alcohol wine) to almost 300 for a sweet dessert wine. Popular types like Merlot and Chardonnay tend to fall in the 150-200 calorie range per glass. So I have to ask you: When it comes to your daily calories, would you rather eat a salad loaded with vegetables that will fill you up or have a glass of wine that will leave you hungry? 

It's simple. We all cheat at times. We just have to decide what we're going to cheat with when we do. If it's with that glass of wine, then stay away from the bread and the dessert. And above all else, make sure you take your LynFit Carb Edge!

When you hear something enough, you actually start to believe it. Even if there is a voice inside your head that says otherwise. The biggest tip-off is that you're not losing weight despite the countless hours you're spending killing yourself in the gym. I lost weight immediately (40 pounds) and you can too once these secrets to boost your metabolism are learned. I had to forget everything I had learned previously and begin to do things differently. #1: Rapid Weight Loss Is Bad - WRONG!

Rapid weight loss (rapid results) is always the best way to get people to stick to the program. That doesn't mean you should starve yourself or go on a crash diet however. Those cause nutritional deficiencies that make us cranky. "The Metabolism Solution" teaches which proteins are best for weight loss as well as the exact amount your body needs to stay healthy, and lose weight. The physical stress it inflicts on our bodies cause our cortisol (aka, fat storing hormone) levels to rise, making that stubborn muffin top even harder to lose.

90% of weight loss is based on diet and exercise makes up the last 10%. That being said, you cannot exercise away a bad diet. No bargaining. Just because you exercised doesn't mean you get to eat more (unless you're a male under 2 years old). When your diet is dialed in you don't have to live in the gym.

#4: High Fat, Low Carb Is Good For Weight Loss - WRONG!

You're not walking around with hairy palms so stop following those "Cave Man" diets. If you are, I'd bet you're gaining weight instead of losing it. To make matters worse, your cholesterol level is probably rising higher that the national deficit!

While you do need fat in your diet, the kind you consume can make or break your weight loss. Some fats burn easier as fuel compared to others. Bad fats, like trans fats, raise cholesterol and increase your risk of heart disease. Not to mention, they make your pants too tight! The saturated fats found in red meat, butter, cheese and peanut butter won't help you lose that muffin top. But a good fat, like Omega 3 found in salmon, will.

The best way to take Omega 3 is through supplementation. I always suggest supplements when you're trying to boost your metabolism because you get a metered dose versus a guesstimation. You need to ensure your body gets exactly the amount it needs - no more, no less - in order to burn off body fat. Omega 3's are also great for pain, inflammation and even easing depression.

Chicken Soup for the Metabolism

Ingredients:
(8) cups chicken stock or fat free, lower sodium chicken broth
(2) cups diagonally sliced carrots
(1) cup chopped onion
½ teaspoon black pepper
(2) 4oz. skinless, bone in chicken thighs
(1) 12oz. skinless, bone in chicken breast half
(2) cups diagonally sliced celery
½ teaspoon Kosher salt
Celery leaves (optional)

Directions:
Combine stock and chicken in a large pot over medium-high heat, bringing to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. Remove chicken from the pot and let stand for 10 minutes. Remove chicken from the bones and shred meat into bite-sized pieces. Discard bones. 
Add carrots, celery and onion to pot; cover and simmer for about 10 minutes. Add chicken, salt and black pepper. Cook until done and add celery leaves if desired.

LynFit's 30 Day Fall Fitness Challenge is unlike other fitness challenges because each and every tip will cause you to melt fat, not just lose weight. These tricks will transform your body fast no matter your age or how slow your metabolism might be. If you've been stuck in a rut this is the best way to break out of it.

By adding these extra tricks each day you will rev up your metabolism so you'll melt fat. CHALLENGE yourself to do at least 1 healthy habit every day for 30 days. If you follow the Metabolic Boosting Cleanse, found in “The Metabolism Solution”, you can expect to lose 1 pound per day.


Why 30 days? It takes 21 days to break a bad habit and start a new one. So I added 10 extra days for practice! I encourage you to go out of your comfort zone and try new things. You might be surprised at what challenging yourself can do!

I DARE YOU TO try each and every one of these tips over the next 30 days. Are you ready? All that's left to do is lose weight! Ready..... Set..... Go.....

  1. Replace 2 meals with Complete Protein Shakes. DO NOT add any fruit or extra calories to the Shakes.
  2. Plank for 2 minutes.
  3. Walk for 60 minutes. Already walk for 60? Add another 15 minutes.
  4. Don't eat between meals! You'll survive, I promise!
  5. Do the Lean Core workout in addition to The Metabolic Booster.
  6. Eat at least 10 servings of vegetables today.
  7. Lift heavier weights during your workout today and do the same amount of reps.
  8. Drink your coffee black.
  9. Do LynFit's Metabolic Booster workout and walk 60 minutes today.
  10. Eat ONLY between the hours of 9am and 5pm.
  11. Do 30 repetitions instead of the usual 12-15 while doing the Metabolic Workout.
  12. Take Pure Omega at 12 noon and again at 3pm to halt cravings before they begin and balance blood sugar levels.
  13. Exercise 2 times today - before breakfast and after dinner.
  14. Add a set of 100 repetitions of power squats to your day.
  15. Eat a Lean Bar for lunch with a cup of tea.
  16. Do 10 push-ups every hour today.
  17. Drink a 6oz. glass of water every hour.
  18. Do the Recovery Stretch at the end of your day.
  19. Take Carb Edge 3 times today instead of 2.
  20. Do a set of 15 jumping jacks in between each set of exercises (hit pause during Metabolic Booster).
  21. Skip that one food you crave. You'll prove to yourself that you can do it.
  22. Do your favorite stretch 3 times today.
  23. Eat only leafy greens today to incinerate fat (use only zero calorie dressing).
  24. Double or triple your cardio today.
  25. Take Cutting Edge before your workout to burn more fat.
  26. Do Power 30, Recovery Stretch, and walk today. It's a fitness marathon.
  27. Go to bed 1 hour earlier tonight and wake up refreshed. Can't sleep? Take Lean Sleep.
  28. Do as many rounds as you can of plank for 2 minutes, 100 squats, 20 push-ups and 20 jumping jacks - time yourself.
  29. Drink a Complete Protein Shake for dinner tonight and have egg whites for breakfast instead. You'll wake up lean.
  30. Congratulate yourself if you did even 80% of these tips. You nailed it. It takes courage, perseverance and willpower to do new things. Celebrate with a massage or your favorite non-food item.
