RECIPE: Strawberry Creme Faux Gurt
Share
The healthiest yogurt is the one you make yourself using high-quality whey protein that is a complete protein and has the perfect amino acid profile, minus the lactose, which is why it's so beneficial for weight loss/waist loss. LynFit takes it a step further… we add prebiotic fiber + digestive enzymes to make it THE MOST delicious, nutritious, and bioavailable protein you can buy without a prescription. This is also why you can whip up a thick faux yogurt simply by reducing the amount of water you use and increasing the blending time. If you LOVE yogurt or creme fraiche, you're going to love this Faux Gurt!
Yogurt is not a complete protein; it lacks sufficient protein to contribute to your daily protein quota (1g per pound of lean body mass or your goal weight). So, despite the “sprinkle” of cultures or probiotics you “think” you're getting, it's an empty-calorie food when it comes to fueling your body to boost your metabolism, nourish hair, skin, and nails, or preserve lean muscle tissue.
Back up to the cultures … the cultures that are sprinkled in your area aren’t the good kind and are almost always inactive by the time they reach your refrigerator. That's why many women experience discomfort or issues when eating yogurt.
This FAUX GURT recipe is gluten-, soy-, lactose-, and GMO-free, as well as diabetic and keto-friendly. We use higher-fiber, low-GI fruits and steer clear of the higher-glycemic fruits like bananas. Which is also why this faux gurt promotes fat burning while preserving precious muscle tissue, which we all need more of as we age to stay strong, slow the aging process, and provide the proper amino acid profile to nourish hair, skin, nails, bone & joint health.
For one serving, you'll need the following:
- (1 scoop) LynFit Vanilla Dream Natural Whey Protein
- (1 cup) Frozen strawberries (no sugar added) *Save (½ cup) for garnish later
- Splash of ice-cold water
Combine ½ cup of frozen strawberries, protein powder, and a splash of water in a blender (always add powder after berries and water, if used), and blend on high for approximately 1 minute or until it thickens/froths.
Spoon into a mug or small bowl, layering the strawberries as you wish.
NOTE: Some older or less powerful blenders may overheat and prevent frothing. If this happens, place the mixture in the freezer to firm up. *DO NOT ADD GELATIN - it affects nutrient absorption and clogs your system.
