RECIPE: Metabolic Boosting Chocolate Waffles
Share
These waffles are super lean, virtually fat-free, and will cook very quickly. Check your manual for specifics, as waffle makers vary greatly. It’s better to undercook than overcook, or waffles may become rubbery. Waffles will continue to cook for a little bit even after removing them from the heat—practice makes perfect. Cooking leaner and cleaner requires trial and error, but it’s well worth it when you taste them. They are as delicious as they are nutritious.
- (2 scoops) LynFit Chocolate Dream Natural Whey Protein
- (3 tbsp.) Egg whites (whisked with a splash of water)
- (2-3 tbsp.) Cold Water, if needed
- Sprinkle of baking powder
Batter Recipe: (makes approximately three waffles - providing 1½ servings per person)
Add protein powder, baking soda, previously whisked eggs, and a dash of water until combined.
Spray the waffle maker with a spray oil before adding the waffle mix and cook on low heat (325 degrees or less) for approximately 3-4 minutes or less (*cooking times will vary according to the waffle maker, so keep an eye on these while they are cooking).
