Did you know that 80% of New Year's resolutions fail by Valentine’s Day? Only 8% will ever become a reality. Welcome to the 8% club! Here are a few powerful, no-fail tips that guarantee that you will succeed.
The reason most people love New Year's is the fresh-start energy, clear vision and motivation, hope, and the belief that whatever you set your mind to is possible. All of that organically goes along with the start of a new year.
I love Mondays and the start of each new day for the same reason. This year, shift your focus and stand in faith on “I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME” scripture PHIL4:13, and remind yourself that ALL things means ALL THINGS, even the areas of your life where you might struggle.
If you're like me and your struggle is with overeating/food, I'm here to remind you that if I can do it, YOU CAN TOO!
If you're a new follower and reading this for the first time, you may have heard me say that “I've lost 40 lbs and kept it off even through menopause and hypothyroidism/autoimmune health issues." My biggest struggle was with sugar, carbs, and the fact that I never felt full, no matter how much I ate or how much weight I gained.
Like most people, I kept setting goals/resolutions that I couldn’t reach, or I chose methods that allowed me to overeat, like becoming vegan and or following carnivore diets. I've done it all, including overexercising to the point that I increased my appetite, rather than squelching it to quiet food noise. What's even sadder is that I didn't even have to like food to overeat it. I'm a clean-my-plate kind of girl.
As a nutritionist, personal trainer, and HIT aerobic instructor, I had all the tools I needed to set goals. But none of them worked until I learned how the metabolism actually works, which sadly is the opposite of what you're hearing in the media or when you read on fasting, exercising when your always stressed, chronic dieting switching form vegan to carnivore to 3-day water fasts, which all cause damage to your metabolic health, slowing your metabolic rate, which is the exact opposite of what we women need to do, especially if you're over 40 and have more than 10 pounds to lose, or carry excess fat around your stomach.
Until you understand how your metabolism works, you may never lose weight. I'm here to share my story, as embarrassing as it is, and remind you that TODAY IS YOUR SOMEDAY. And NOW is the best time. There is more hope than you think!
Here Are a Few Metabolic Facts
- Your stomach is naturally the size of your fist. Sure, if you overeat, you stretch it out, but the goal is to get it back to normal size by reducing your food intake.
- Our bodies only need 1/3 of the calories we consume.
- Our bodies don't run on calories per se … they run on and require specific nutrients in proper amounts, and when we do this, weight loss is guaranteed and actually happens faster than you might think. Weight loss doesn’t require expensive trendy semaglutide drugs, starving for days, or spending hours in the gym. In fact, all of these actually cause more damage and slow your metabolic rate.
If you're scared or confused by this info, you're not alone. I've been where you are, and I know how frustrating that can feel. You need to remind yourself that losing weight and keeping it off is easier than you think when you have the right nutrition and meal plan.
It's a science, NOT a fad or trend. For 35+ years, I’ve kept the 40lbs. I lost off, and at 57, I'm in the best shape of my life. I’ve devoted the last 35 years to researching all things metabolism. I continue to work with the best endocrinologists and doctors in the world, which is what makes our Quick Keto Metabolic Weight Loss Reset so successful for the last 35 years!
The good news is that in 35 years, I've never experienced a metabolism I couldn’t boost.
There is no such thing as a metabolism that can't be fixed, no matter how old you are, or how sluggish your metabolism is, or what health issues you're facing. Sure, sometimes our metabolism is so damaged that it takes a few days or up to one week to kickstart our metabolic rate, if we've been chronically dieting or our blood sugar is wonky, but 9 out of 10 times, it's our head or disbelief that gets in the way the most.
Fear followed by disbelief is the #DREAM/RESOLUTION killer on the planet!
