Boost Energy, Hydration, Weight Loss, & Hair Growth Naturally

Did you know that over-hydrating your body induces dehydration, the exact opposite of what you're trying to accomplish, not to mention the strain it puts on your bladder and kidneys. The problem is that in cold weather, the body's natural thirst response can decrease by up to 40%, making it difficult to rely on thirst alone. Most typical hydration indicators are easily mistaken for "just winter things." It is important to pay close attention to the physical and cognitive signals our bodies send.

If you're drinking tons of water and running to the bathroom every two seconds, you may be hydrating the wrong way. On the flip side, using IV hydration liquids, powders, Gatorade, or other hydration boosters might cause you to retain water, negatively affecting digestion, which can make your stomach queasy or nauseous, cause weight gain/bloat, and increase blood pressure, which is never a good thing.

KNOW THE MOST COMMON PHYSICAL WARNING SIGNS OF DEHYDRATION and the reason why it's so harmful to every aspect of your physical and cognitive health. Dehydration prevents collagen and other nutrients from reaching the cells where all real, lasting change occurs.

The dehydration short list.

  • Aches, Pains, Stiffness: As a Metabolic Health and Physical Fitness Expert for the last 35 years, I've witnessed thousands of people get drug-free pain relief and increased mobility and flexibility simply by hydrating their bodies the right way.
  • Bloat: Your body will shift into survival mode, holding onto whatever fluid it has to protect your health.
  • Constipation/Stomach Aches: Lack of proper hydration impedes digestion, affecting gut health and causing hard stools that are difficult to pass.
  • Dark-Colored Urine: Urine that is dark yellow, amber, or orange is one of the most reliable signs of dehydration.
  • Dizziness or Lightheadedness: Dehydration reduces blood volume, causing you to feel dizzy or lightheaded, especially when you stand up or change position quickly.
  • Dry, Loose, Crepey Skin, Brittle Nails, and Chapped Lips: Cold outdoor air and dry indoor heating strip moisture away, leading to tight, itchy, or flaky skin and cracked lips. 9 out of 10 times, loose, crepey skin results from dehydration and prevents collagen and other nutrients from reaching the cells where real change occurs, which is why your skin is crepey and your nails remain weak.
  • Dry Eyes and Mouth: Reduced saliva production causes a dry throat, bad breath, or "xerostomia" (dry mouth), and also dries out your eyes.
  • Unexplained chronic fatigue and an erratic, irregular heartbeat: Dehydration reduces blood volume, forcing your heart to work harder and causing sluggishness or a "midday slump," and, when left unchecked, can cause an irregular heartbeat.
  • Flushed Skin: Dehydration can impair your body's ability to regulate your temperature and can cause your skin to appear red, flushed, or more acne-prone.
  • Headaches/Brain Fog: Dehydration from low fluid intake affects brain function and can lead to chronic headaches, difficulty concentrating, brain fog, and poor memory.
  • Increased Hunger and Cravings: 90% of hunger and cravings are caused by dehydration. Our bodies often confuse thirst with hunger, leading to unexpected cravings or hunger pangs shortly after eating that can be hard to quell, no matter how much we eat.
  • Muscle Spasms/Cramps: A lack of proper electrolytes and fluids can cause muscles to tighten or seize, often referred to as "Charley horses". Hydrating properly eases foot and leg cramps faster than any other method.
  • Slow Metabolic Rate: If your metabolic rate seems slower than it should be, dehydration may be to blame. Even slight dehydration can slow your metabolic rate by 3 percent or more. The more dehydrated you are, the slower your metabolism will be due to your body's built-in survival mode.

I could go on and on, and even write a book on dehydration and how to hydrate the right way, without consuming excessive calories or sodium, both of which can cause irreversible damage to your health. Before I share my personal hydration secret, I need to make sure that you know the severe warning signs of dehydration. It's no joke.

Severe Warning Signs

If dehydration is left unchecked, it will worsen quickly and become a medical emergency. Seek immediate medical care if you experience:

  • Mental confusion or extreme fatigue or irritability.
  • Rapid heartbeat (tachycardia) or rapid breathing.
  • Fainting or loss of consciousness.
  • No urination for several hours.
  • Fever and chills despite the cold environment.
