Superfoods For Super Pain Relief From Rheumatoid Arthritis

Janine Rose refers to her days suffering from rheumatoid arthritis as her Dark, Depressed Days. She remembers not being able to walk to the mailbox or grab a steering wheel because the pain was too excruciating. Her hands became so swollen that she couldn’t do a thing except lie flat and wait for the pain to subside. The fatigue and exhaustion were like nothing she had ever experienced and it took over her life completely; or shall we say, killed any life that might have been.

She already knew the cause was rheumatoid arthritis, but that didn’t make it easier. The sheer amount of medications she had to take had its set of side-effects. Medications that many people don’t have access to because their outrageous cost is financially crippling without insurance. Though treatments for rheumatoid arthritis did bring some relief, it caused her weight to reach an all-time high of 211 lbs. The depression became so severe that all she wanted to do was eat and sleep (read Janine's story HERE). She admits that her horrific eating habits were also contributing to rheumatoid arthritis and also rendering the medications ineffective. The demand for more necessary medications continued, so the vicious cycle continued.

Janine Before and AfterNow it's 8 years later, and the 49-year-old mom has lost 88 lbs. and holding. Janine has managed to keep the weight off despite the fact that rheumatoid arthritis tends to come back to haunt every once in a while. Pain recurrence can set you back mentally and physically and cause your weight to skyrocket if you aren’t careful. Especially if you need to take medications that are known to increase blood sugar levels that cause extreme cravings and water retention. This shows up as excess pounds on the scale that can lead to even deeper depression.

Janine has found a way to do what may seem impossible when rheumatoid arthritis strikes that has kept her on the road to success. She has managed to keep her weight off and is learning to take better care of her health by staying on top of her care. People who are on top of their care tend to do better overall when it comes to keeping the weight off and managing symptoms.

Janine’s doctor couldn’t be happier that she has managed to keep her weight off and that she has found a way to modify her metabolic boosting workouts, allowing her to continue to exercise. She says the training provides quite a mood boost — something we all know we need when we aren’t feeling well.

Here are some suggestions I gave Janine when her rheumatoid arthritis symptoms came back to haunt her recently. Management, metabolic boosting tips may help you as well if you suffer from rheumatoid arthritis or any pain-related illness.

Sometimes food becomes our only comfort when we are in pain. It’s important to stick to your plan now more than ever when symptoms flare up. Food is the problem, not the solution. Stay tight on your thermogenic eating plan available in The Metabolism Solution.

Fall is full of superfoods that can do more than delight your taste buds. If you’re not careful, however, you might eat foods that cause weight gain that can trigger inflammation, leaving you feeling worse than you did before you ate the so-called superfoods. Here are some seasonal favorites that contain nutrients that may help lessen the pain associated with any type of arthritis. They also help boost metabolism, making weight loss easier. Try to incorporate these foods and nutrients into your diet to ease pain and keep your weight under control. Maintaining a healthy weight helps prevent additional stress on your joints and your mind. That is a critical step when it comes to managing any pain.

For starters, limit pumpkin and winter squashes. While they are healthy superfoods, they also spike blood sugar levels that can trigger a rheumatoid arthritis attack or increase pain. Don’t be fooled by the health halo claims. If you're trying to lose weight the rules are different when managing any pain, especially arthritis.

A is for Awesome Apples. You already know how much I love apples when it comes to boosting metabolism and melting fat. What you might not know is how good they are for pain relief. Apples are always associated with fall, which brings emotional pleasure. That bright, firm apple is also a healthy rheumatoid arthritis snack. Apples are high in fiber, meaning they fill you up and cut hunger, kill cravings and balance blood sugar — that is key. This makes it easier to maintain your weight or even drop a few pounds. One thing most experts agree on is apples are a great fruit, period.

Because of all the different varieties of apples, they are very versatile in terms of how you can cook with them. You can add them to savory dishes as well as enjoy them as dessert. Try my Apple Whey Crispalicous found in The Metabolism Solution for an irresistibly delicious dessert that helps with your aches and pains.

C is for Curry or Curcumin. Some spices, such as turmeric, are being investigated for potential health benefits. Turmeric is a mild spice that gives Indian curries their characteristic yellow color. In fact, it’s what makes mustard yellow. Curry can be added to fall soups and stews (see the Good for Your Chicken Stew recipe in The Metabolism Solution) to cook healthy foods for rheumatoid arthritis that deliver an anti-inflammatory boost.

Turmeric (Curry) has a mild anti-inflammatory effect. If you’re trying to reduce inflammation, the more ways you can help yourself the better you’ll feel. It's not yet clear how much of the spice is needed to get a measurable effect on rheumatoid arthritis. You need to like it to get enough. That being said, I suggest turmeric from LynFit Recovery Agent instead to ensure your body gets what it needs for pain relief. Using spices is always a healthy way to add flavor and variety to foods when managing pain or your weight.

Anytime you can use spice for flavor rather than salt, it's a good for metabolic boosting.

G is for Go Nuts. But not all nuts are created equal. While most nuts are an excellent source of heart-healthy unsaturated fats, some nuts, such as walnuts, also contain Omega 3 fatty acids that can fight inflammation. That puts them in the rheumatoid arthritis superfoods category. I like them as a weight loss expert because no one ever overeats on walnuts, but I’ve seen many a woman polish off a bag of pistachios despite the cost. I find it amazing how we never seem to notice the expense of our cheats.

Nuts are also cholesterol-free, making them a healthy snack. Just don't overdo it. Nuts are calorie-dense, so watch your portion size. It's best to stick to a small handful — about an ounce.

The Apple Whey Crispalicious recipe in The Metabolism Solution includes walnuts, so you’ll be getting two superfoods in one snack.

K is for Kale. Kale has traditionally been a cool-weather green, although its nutritional powers make it a year-round favorite and celebrity recently, and for good reason. Like other leafy green vegetables, kale is rich in anti-inflammatory antioxidants and vitamins K and C. It's also high in fiber, making it a great rheumatoid arthritis super-food.

Kale can be cooked, eaten raw in a salad, or baked into crispy kale chips for a healthy on-the-go snack. Try my Kale Chips found in The Metabolism Solution. They are not only good for you; they taste great too. Don’t tell your kids it's kale, or that they are good for you, and they will devour them. That worked for me in my house.

S is for Salmon. If you're on my metabolic boosting programs, you know how I feel about salmon. Coldwater fish such as salmon, sardines, tuna, mackerel, and even anchovies, contain inflammation-fighting Omega 3 fatty acids. Try to have (2) or more 3–4 oz. portions each week. Check out the recipes in The Metabolism Solution. Try them over and over, adding your favorite spices until you find a way to enjoy them.

For fast relief, stick to your plan and drink your Complete Protein Shakes. They also help in healing, which is directly correlated with pain relief. Don’t allow pain to take you off your weight loss game. You shouldn’t suffer either. Try these superfoods, and as always, please keep me posted on your successes. I love to hear about them!

The New Way To Lose Weight If You Have Hypothyroidism

HypothyroidismIt's estimated that 11 million adults and children have hypothyroidism. Two out of every three people with hypothyroidism (under-active thyroid gland) may not know they have the disease.

Why are so many people getting the disease? This is something the medical community can't agree, but lots of people who struggle with weight loss think that if they simply take a thyroid pill they will lose weight. This couldn't be further from the truth. The fact is that as we age, most of us will experience our thyroids slowing down simply because of age.

Combine this thyroid-slowing issue with the fact that we lose muscle every year (which is estimated at 1–2 percent per year after age 50) and that we eat more and exercise less due to fatigue, and you've got the perfect weight gain storm. There are very simple effortless steps anyone can do to lose weight, even if you have hypothyroidism.

The fact is if you want to lose weight you're going to have to do things differently after you turn 40. If you're willing to make a few adjustments, you're sure to succeed at losing weight.

The Facts:

Taking prescribed thyroid medication will treat the symptoms but it doesn’t cure hypothyroidism. There isn’t a cure, but you’ll feel some relief from the medications help. Taking prescribed thyroid medication will improve health but it won’t necessarily help you lose weight or make it any easier. Until you understand how your metabolism works, you might not ever lose that weight. Diet is 90 percent of your weight loss success. Not just any diet will do when it comes to losing weight when you have a sluggish thyroid. In fact, the wrong diet can make you gain weight.

Unfortunately, an underactive thyroid almost always means constipation and weight gain. Being constipated masks your weight loss and makes you feel bloated and uncomfortable. This usually causes you to eat for comfort, which is counterproductive when it comes to losing weight. To combat this, it’s critical that you eat thermogenic vegetables that not only promote weight loss and regularity but boost your metabolism — exactly what we hypothyroid gals need.

Limit your intake of “goitrogens”, which are compounds found naturally in some foods that make it difficult for the thyroid gland to create hormones. Foods that are high in goitrogens include cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and products made with soy.

High in metabolic boosting proteins, but low in high-fat proteins? The solution is to eat more white fish. Eat with this in mind if you’re trying to lose weight: ”The lighter and whiter the fish the faster your metabolism will be."

While proteins from chicken, or better yet turkey breast, serve as important building blocks for our hormones, they can also be higher in fat than our hypothyroid metabolisms can handle. When trying to lose weight choose proteins that boost weight loss versus block it. Try to eat more white fish such as scrod, cod, halibut, and flounder versus higher fat fish that are higher in mercury. Fish is also higher in iodine, which is great for the metabolism. Often, iodine deficiency can be what brings on the hypothyroidism in the first place. Don’t like fish? Try tuna burgers. Even fish haters love them.

Spot on when it comes to healthy fats. If you eat too much, you’ll gain weight. Healthy fats are often found in plant oils and certain seeds, but if your metabolism is slow, you may want to eat these foods with caution. Fat is also high in calories, and it’s the excess calories that cause us to gain weight, not the fact that our thyroid is low.

That being said, healthy fats in the right amounts can help promote and protect thyroid gland function. You’ll want to keep your fat grams to 15–20 grams per day, and choose from good sources such as salmon that’s rich in Omega 3, and a small amount of olive oil.

It’s better to add a Pure Omega 3 Supplement to your diet instead of trying to get your needs met through diet. Often, we overeat on these fats (avocado is a fat, but it’s also one of the worst foods when it comes to weight loss) so supplementing tends to be a better choice when it comes to losing weight with hypothyroidism.

High in vitamin D, but not from dairy. Supplements are a better source. Studies have shown that vitamin D deficiency is associated with the severity of hypothyroidism. If you’re not losing weight, your vitamin D levels may be to blame. To ease the symptoms of hypothyroidism, increase your intake of vitamin D through supplements such as LynFit D3 Boost and make sure to include sources such as salmon or other fatty fish.

Selenium-rich — LynFit Daily Power Shot. Increased selenium intake has also shown promise when it comes to the synthesis of thyroid hormones according to recent studies. Some good sources of selenium, are Brazil nuts (be careful they pack a high-calorie and high-fat punch) and various fish such as tuna, or halibut. Supplements are also a great way to guarantee your body gets the selenium it needs to keep your metabolism and thyroid running at optimal levels. You can find the right amount (100mcg of selenium that is 143 percent of your recommended daily allowance in the LynFit Daily Power Shot) in a colloidal liquid making it easier for your body to absorb.

Pumped up with prebiotics. The only thing that’s better than probiotics is prebiotics. Probiotics are important for keeping your gut bacteria at healthy levels (low gut bacteria affects every aspect of your health, including hypothyroidism). The one thing that’s even better is prebiotics. They help control blood sugar and have been known to affect our ability to burn fat and make it harder to store fat, something we hypothyroid girls need more of.

Normal levels of bacteria protect our bodies against invaders, undigested food, toxins, and parasites. When good and bad bacteria get out of balance, you may experience fluctuations in your thyroid activity and your immune system. LynFit Lean Bars are a great source of prebiotic fiber. So is LynFit's new Chocolate Sauce. Both are sweetened with prebiotic fiber. They sure beat kefir or sauerkraut or worse, kombucha tea.

What about your workout you ask? Or How should you work out if you have hypothyroidism? If you’re hypothyroid, and you’re trying to lose weight, your workout needs to have specific requirements just like your diet does to be successful. If you have been trying to lose weight and have hypothyroidism, your workout needs to address these issues without hurting your current condition. Not all workouts are created equal when it comes to losing weight. Iin fact, most of them are the opposite of what you need.

In order for you to lose weight your hypothyroidism workout plan needs to be daily cardio workouts. By walking or doing more cardio workouts, you’ll help boost your serotonin levels, which are typically low in people with under-active thyroids. That is why we struggle with depression. Serotonin is a brain chemical that affects your mood, appetite, and your sleep cycle. I suggest “core walking," which is a good form of walking that includes your core. You get a whole body workout, and you don’t need tons of energy to get it done. As you know hypothyroid types tend to be exhausted all the time, so high energy aerobic workouts almost always get blown off. Walk daily for 30–45 minutes at a moderate pace.

Boost your metabolism with the right kind of strength training workout. It’s important to build muscle and strength (don’t worry you won’t get bulky) when trying to lose weight. After all, it’s the muscle that helps you burn fat and lose weight easier due to its metabolic boosting effects. But not all workouts are created equal when it comes to weight loss. Metabolic booting workouts are “the best” if you’re trying to lose weight, especially if you have hypothyroidism. Want to transform your body fast? Swap out your current routine and start doing metabolic boosting workouts three times weekly. You’ll see results within the first week.

Sleeping lean should be a part of your workout routine. Hypothyroidism takes a toll on your energy levels, so nothing is more important than establishing a regular sleep routine. To recharge your body so you can perform your workouts and stick to your hypothyroid diet, you’ll need to aim for 7–9 hours of sleep every day. If you’re having trouble sleeping, and most of us woman over 40 do, consider using LynFit Lean Sleep to help you fall asleep and stay asleep. LynFit Lean Sleep contains melatonin rather than the harmful metabolism slowing sleep aids.

You can find a transcript for the segment HERE

So, here we go — Let's get ready to Lose 7 Pounds in 7 Days!

Why Abdominal Fat Is Dangerous

Belly FatBelly fat is very different than fat covering the hips and thighs. Fat stored around the middle produces substances that can create serious health risks, one of those being breast cancer. That's why if you have excess belly fat covering your stomach, it can make losing weight practically impossible. Women over 40 years of age, who store fat around their midsection or have been treated for breast cancer, require an entirely different approach when it comes to losing weight. The typical weight loss plan will not work. If you’re reading this, I’m sure you’ve figured that out by now.

It doesn’t matter what your body shape is, excess fat isn’t good for your health. The fat that covers your belly is much worse than saddlebags and thunder thighs. When it comes to body fat, location counts more than you might think. The fat that’s covering your abs is deep, meaning there is more there than you can pinch with your fingers.

Belly fat has a secret life of its own and creates a health and weight loss nightmare called metabolic syndrome. This is the name for a set of risk factors that occur together, increasing the risk of coronary artery disease, stroke, and Type 2 diabetes. This kind of fat is made up of living cells that spit out hormones such as estrogen, which make it even harder to lose belly fat. Metabolic syndrome may also cause intense cravings for foods such as sugars and carbs. The exact foods that we shouldn’t be eating if we are trying to melt off this harmful stuff.

People who develop this syndrome are carrying most of their weight in their stomach and almost always overweight. You rarely see this in a thin person, unless they are daily drinkers (see "It's Wine or Your Waistline" in The Metabolism Solution).

Fat cells have two purposes:

    • Storing energy for later use
    • Secreting hormones that regulate appetite and blood sugar levels

We all have fat cells, but lean people have smaller fat cells. These so-called small fat cells secrete a helpful hormone called adiponectin, which helps the body use insulin more efficiently. This makes losing weight and melting fat easier. The heavier you are the harder it is to lose weight and the leaner you are, the easier it is.

If you’re overweight, your fat cells are larger and tend to shut off the production of this helpful hormone. That’s why you always feel hungry. It makes it harder for insulin to do its job — called insulin resistance. Anyone can lose weight if they can control the insulin resistance, also known as lowering your blood sugar. This is exactly what makes the LynFit Metabolic Boosting System so efficient — allowing you to lose 1 pound per day.

Your goal should be to lose weight and melt fat as quickly as possible before these hormones get more out of whack. That’s what makes the use of smart supplements so important vs. not using them. The LynFit Metabolic Boosting System combines all of the best nutrients, in exactly the amount needed to lower blood sugar, so you melt off harmful belly fat and stop the vicious weight gain cycle. Essentially, it flips the weight gain switches off and turns on the weight loss switch.

If you store fat around your belly, there is more fat underneath the skin called subcutaneous fat. There is also fat inside the belly and underneath the muscles. These hidden fats stored around your kidneys, liver and intestines are known as visceral fat. This type of fat is much more harmful than the subcutaneous fat because it hampers insulin's effectiveness. These fat cells produce other hormones and proteins that are dangerous because they are located next to vital organs.

These visceral fat cells secrete a protein that contributes to inflammation, which creates clogged arteries (atherosclerosis), setting the stage for a heart attack. They also secrete a protein that constricts blood vessels, causing high blood pressure. Because this fat is so close to the liver, they drain right into that organ through a vein raising LDL cholesterol as well. Visceral fat is also linked with breast cancer, colon cancer, and may also contribute to dementia as well.

Belly fat is no joke. It’s much more important that a hot sexy body. It requires a specific approach to not only lose weight but to get this monster of a fat to melt off. It's no easy feat, and that’s why it takes a serious boost to get rid of it. Add hypothyroidism to the mix and you have a weight gain disaster on your hands.

I'm praying the next time you decide to cheat because you feel like it, or indulge in a glass of wine, you think twice. Your life may depend on it. Living a healthy lifestyle not only helps you lose weight, but it also keeps it off as well. Remember, whatever you do to take the weight off is also how you’ll keep it off. Be consistent in your habits and you’ll never have to worry.

The LynFit Lose 1 Pound Per Day Kit was formulated for exactly this reason, and if you don’t struggle with the issues above you’ll lose weight even faster. Start now — Your family needs you here and healthy!

Dial Down Your Diabetes With 3 Simple Steps

Preventing Diabetes

Every 5 minutes, 2 people die of diabetes-related causes and 16 adults are newly diagnosed according to Centers for Disease Control 2015 statistics.

You just got back from the doctor, and he told you that you are pre-diabetic. Your blood work didn't look good; your fasting glucose was 110 — which is not diabetic, but not normal either. I'm guessing you have a million questions, and most of them are questions about what you can eat. More importantly, which of your favorite foods (which probably are what brought you to this point) will you have to give up.

The truth is; the "kick pre-diabetes to the curb diet" is a healthy, balanced diet with the elimination, or at a minimum, moderation of simple sugars. It's the way we should all be eating to stay healthy and fit. But with all the conflicting information out there it can be confusing. I'm going to teach you some simple solutions to help you kick pre-diabetes to the curb. The best part is that you will lose weight and melt off belly fat. For most of us, food is our entire world, so giving up our favorite foods is highly unlikely. However, it's important to understand how your food choices affect your blood sugar levels and how lowering them is much easier than you think.

Prevention is the cure. Diabetes can cause complications such as heart disease, eye disease, and kidney disease. A little prevention is worth it and is much easier than you think.

I dare you to take the 7 Day Lower Your Blood Sugar (pre-diabetic) Challenge. The Challenge will not only help you lose weight, but it will also help to prevent diabetes and melt off belly fat. You will have more energy all day and won't be cranky all the time.

Here are Three Simple Steps to help you lose weight and lower blood sugar levels while enjoying some of your favorite foods. Try to follow these simple steps for seven days straight while monitoring your blood sugar levels so you can see your progress. Do your best and focus on progress, not perfection. If you slip up, get right back on track at your next meal. Lowering your blood sugar is that simple.

SIMPLE STEP #1: Prevent blood sugar spikes with this high protein breakfast

Always eat a lean, high protein breakfast every day to prevent blood sugar spikes. More and more, Americans are on-the-go, skipping the "most important meal of the day" and not eating until lunch. Tel Aviv University published a recent study that revealed the substantial impact of skipping breakfast on pre-diabetics (Type 2). It stated that "fasting" until noon triggered major blood sugar spikes and impaired insulin responses in Type 2 diabetics throughout the rest of the day. Skipping breakfast may also cause overeating later in the day which adds insult to injury.

This can be easily solved by drinking a clean, whey protein shake that is low in both carbohydrates and fats, yet still high fiber. This helps to keep you feeling fuller, making it easier to avoid eating the wrong foods. Adding Sunfiber in particular, will keep you regular. It’s the only regulating fiber that’s tasteless and mixes clear and easy so you won’t even know it’s there. However, most pre-made shakes do not fit these nutritious criteria, so it's better if you prepare the shake yourself. Try this blood sugar lowering, lean muscle preserving, cortisol blocking, delicious breakfast smoothie.

Cinnamon Smoothie
Simply combine the following items in a blender or shaker cup and drink up.
2 scoops of Complete Protein Vanilla Whey
½ cup of water or black coffee
1 serving of Sunfiber
5 ice cubes
1 tsp of cinnamon (cinnamon helps lower blood sugar levels)

SIMPLE STEP #2: Snack smart to lower blood sugar

Yes, you can snack if you're pre-diabetic. It's important to keep your meals and snacks spaced 2½–3 hours apart. Lots of pre-diabetic people get nervous about being a little hungry. It's okay to be a little hungry, especially if you are overweight. What's more important is that you choose foods that are low in carbohydrates and high in fiber. This will help you to feel fuller longer so you will eat less and lose weight. That's the best way to help control your blood sugar levels. Snack smart on homemade popcorn to help keep your carbohydrates in check. Popcorn is naturally high in fiber. When made from scratch it is an all-natural food without additives or artificial flavorings. You can use Malaysian palm oil that is nature’s richest source of vitamin E.

Why should you use Malaysian palm oil instead of your typical oil? Malaysian Palm oil is naturally trans-fat free so that you can steer clear of hydrogenated oils. Malaysian sustainable palm oil has beta carotene, tocotrienols, and other nutrients that have been shown to support good health. These nutrients help protect the skin from the inside out, and it’s great for brain and heart health. I also love that this oil is sustainable, unlike soy and other oils.

      • Oil palms grow for 30 years.
      • Fruit is harvested every 3 months.
      • They are non-GMO.
      • No chemical processing required to produce the oil. It’s simply squeezed out. This is always best for our bodies
Homemade Popcorn (recipe submitted by Kyle Lynn)
Pour 1 tbsp. of Malaysian palm oil into a heavy-bottom, medium-large pot. Cover the bottom of the pot with ½ cup of popcorn kernels. Spread in a thin layer (if the kernels are too crowded, not all of them will pop). Cover the pot and heat on medium, shaking the pot every minute or so until all the kernels have popped. Take care not to cook too long, which could scorch the popped kernels. Sprinkle the popcorn with any of the following:

  • ¼ tsp of No Salt
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp Allspice or cinnamon or 1 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
    (Serving size: 1 cup)

SIMPLE SOLUTION #3: Do this trick before you cheat

It doesn't matter if you're going to have a cocktail or splurge on a piece of your favorite cake — you need to always do this first.
Know your numbers. What was your last glucose reading? Was it low enough to cheat? If not—wait. Timing is everything. Cheating when your blood sugar is high can cause major complications that could potentially cost you your life.

Before you cheat, always make sure you have first eaten lean, metabolic boosting protein and thermogenic (low carb), high fiber vegetables. This will help "buffer" the insulin response. You will also eat less and have more control with your sugary treat (yes, this includes alcohol) vs. eating your treat while starving. Warm vegetables vs. cold are best to help control your insulin. Juicing is a definite "no", as it escalates blood sugar levels as fast as soda would. Some good examples of what to eat before you cheat are shrimp for lean protein, warm broccoli, or a salad.

Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Don't forget your 1-2-3 punch to lower blood sugar and kick your diabetes to the curb.

Everyone has individual needs. Work with your doctor or a dietician if you need help. They can help you decide how to balance the carbohydrates, proteins, and fats in your diet. Here are some general guidelines: The amount of each type of food depends on:

        • Your diet
        • Your weight
        • How often you exercise
        • Your other health risks

Beat Bloat With A Fiber-Full Diet

What happens when you combine the best kind of fiber for weight loss with a delicious flavor? You get people to up their fiber intake every day consistently.

I've been in this business for over 27 years. When I was studying to become a performance nutrition specialist and certified trainer, one of the first things I learned was if you can't get people to eat cleaner and better, then have them increase their fiber intake. While this sounds super simple, one of the reasons people are overweight to begin with is the fact that they don't eat enough fiber. Even the American Heart Association agree that we can all be healthier if we increase our fiber.

Here is what fiber can do for you:

    • Keeps you feeling full which helps you eat less
    • Improves health and metabolic issues, such as blood pressure, cholesterol, and even blood sugar

Researchers have proven that even people with pre-diabetes can greatly benefit simply by eating more fiber-rich foods, such as vegetables and some fruit to reach their quota of 30 grams daily. In today's busy lifestyle, that's almost impossible, but it's still necessary, and you should be paying attention to your fiber intake.

I find when it comes to losing weight, not consuming enough fiber is a huge issue, and researchers agree. Think what your dinner plate would look like if you had 3 ounces of chicken breast (think of a deck of cards). Since gluten isn't good for weight loss, that eliminates bread, pasta, and practically every grain you could buy. Your plate would be empty — unless you eat your vegetables.

I'm still amazed when I talk to grown ups who tell me, "I don't like vegetables." Well, neither did I. When I finally decided I wanted to lose weight I got sick of an empty plate. I began to try new vegetables until I found some (aim for 5) that I liked and was willing to eat. Now, 25 years later and 40 pounds lighter, vegetables are the first thing I reach for when I eat out (big salads). When I cook at home, my meals are 90 percent vegetables and 10 percent protein. Well, maybe not that severe, but you get my point. One thing that will never change is that we all need to eat a fiber-rich diet (30 grams daily). This is the secret to successful weight loss and keeping it off for life.

LynFit Lean BarsThe issue is that very few people reach the 30-gram daily fiber goal. That's why I created LynFit Lean Bars and LynFit Chocolate Sauce. Using and eating these fiber-rich tools not only makes reaching your fiber quota easier, but they also keep you feeling fuller.

Fiber can help you lose weight, but it's important that you understand not all fiber is created equal. Not all fiber is good for losing weight and melting belly fat. Since fiber does contain carbohydrates, you'll want to choose the right kind — prebiotic — if you're trying to lose weight.

What makes this prebiotic fiber so special? It has carbohydrates that our bodies cannot digest. This makes them better for weight loss. Prebiotic fiber (found in LynFit Lean Bars and LynFit Chocolate Sauce) have a powerful effect on our health, as well as our metabolism.

Studies agree that this type of fiber can also help you lose body fat, but it must have certain properties. The prebiotic fiber found in LynFit Lean Bars and LynFit Chocolate Sauce contain specific fiber that feeds the friendly bacteria in our gut. These bacteria are called gut flora.  Thanks to the recent probiotic hype, most of us are aware that having bacteria in the gut is healthy. However, what you might not know could be slowing your weight loss. Different types of bacteria play different and important roles in various aspects in your weight management, such as blood sugar control, immunity, and even brain functioning. Bacteria also aid in keeping us regular.

This is where the soluble fiber comes in. It passes through the digestive system practically unchanged, eventually reaching the friendly bacteria in the intestine, who end up digesting the fiber and turning it into energy (this is thermogenic). Nourishing these friendly bacteria in the intestine is known as the prebiotic effect. Just another way LynFit's program and products boost your metabolism.

The LynFit Lean Bar and LynFit Chocolate Sauce make losing weight faster and easier without having to think about it. The next time you grab a grocery store protein bar (they should be called lack protein bars) check out the label. You'll see why they only cost .50. They are primarily sugar and carbs. LynFit Lean Bars contain 10 grams of prebiotic fiber and the perfect amount of protein (19–20 grams). Yet LynFit Lean Bars have very few carbs and little to no sugar. That's why you can use them to replace a meal.

How To Avoid The "Freshman 15"

School is right around the corner. It's not too late to lose that extra weight you put on this summer and boost your metabolism so you can avoid that dreaded "Freshmen 15". If you're a parent that worries, and I'm guessing you are, I'm going to bring you peace.

The dreaded "Freshman 15" was only the start of weight gain frustration for me. I ended up gaining 40 pounds. Yes, you heard right—I was 40 pounds heavier than I am now. At my height, that's far too heavy. I became a vegetarian and over-exercised. All that did was slow down my already dead metabolism. To make matters worse, I was and still am, hypothyroid. I struggle with an evil sweet tooth and a love of food that can stop me from losing weight dead in its tracks. You can read about my teen food struggles in my book, The Metabolism Solution.

The good news is, I was so desperate to lose that excess weight that I made it my personal mission to learn everything I could about sluggish female metabolisms. To this day, I continue to study for over an hour every day to find ways to make losing weight faster and easier for anyone who wants or needs to lose weight. I've spent over 25 years developing my metabolic boosting system that teens and their families can use to boost their metabolism, kill cravings, recalibrate appetite, and make losing weight so simple you can't "not do it". Unless of course you're not ready to lose weight yet.

But first, let's back up for a moment. It's this time in a teen's (remember, our teens are adults now) life that makes or breaks their weight for the rest of their life. Most people can relate to the "Freshman 15" phenomenon—from high school freshman to first-year college students. The truth is it can happen to anyone at any time. So if you need to lose weight, you'll want to hear these three simple steps that jumpstart your weight loss by flipping the fat/weight gain button to "off", while flipping the fat burning switch "on", safely and naturally. The best part? This system is healthy so you can live on it, making life so easy. No thinking, planning or complicated meal prep that usually requires time-consuming clean up. Now, more than ever, we need simple, not complicated. Especially when it comes to losing weight.

First, it's important to understand how the metabolism works so you can lose weight and keep it off for life. Most of us think we know what fuels our metabolism and what slows it down. But if you're not losing weight you need to forget everything you've learned about weight loss and reboot your thinking. Most of what we've learned about weight loss is all wrong.

When it comes to losing weight, it's all about the speed of our metabolism. The speed of our metabolism is determined by the following factors:

    • Genetics
    • Activity level
    • Diet
    • Hormones

Young college age women are thought to be the only ones who fall victim to "adult metabolism". The truth is; it happens to all of us at some point. Adult metabolisms are slower than the "all you can eat childhood metabolism" we all enjoyed when we were younger. For some young women, this shift happens when they begin menstruating. For others, it can happen earlier or later, ranging in age 10-years-old and up.

My husband is one of those "I can't gain weight" guys—until he hit 50. Then the middle age muffin top became a problem. Luckily I've got the solution. The entire family can join in, which is better psychologically for a young adult. No one likes being singled out—especially teenagers. It makes them feel like they are being attacked. After all, weight gain is a family affair, so weight loss should be too.

How do you know if you have a slow metabolism? For in-depth details, read The Metabolism Solution and take the Slow Metabolism Test. But for now, let's keep it simple. If you have 10 or more pounds to lose, the odds are that you have a slow metabolism. It may be because of a medical condition or simply because you're not eating enough thermogenic foods. You may be eating foods that work better for weight gain. Can you say juicing? You may also be over or under exercising, when what you need is metabolic boosting exercise because it addresses the underlying issues—a sluggish metabolism.

A lot of factors play a role in a slow metabolism. It's helpful to know, however, that anyone who has weight to lose has a  slowed metabolism. Did you know that shorter people have slower metabolisms and require a metabolic boosting approach? The good news is these three simple steps will reboot your metabolism allowing anyone to lose the "Freshman 15" before school starts. These tips will help anyone lose 1 pound a day and melt belly fat fast.

STEP ONE—Breakfast Boost: Eat thermogenically to boost metabolism by 25 percent while switching cravings to "off" and heating up your metabolism. This can be as simple as boosting at breakfast with a delicious LynFit Complete Protein Shake /Smoothie (don't add fruit or any type of milk) exactly 12 hours after your last meal. Don't like shakes? No problem. You can substitute the shake with a LynFit Lean Bar
*NOTE: LynFit Complete Protein Shake is the only shake that's specially designed to do this.

STEP TWO—Skip snack time and sip yourself slim instead. Snack time was meant to end once we become adults. But the snack companies who invented "adult snacking " want us to eat snacks for the wrong reasons—profits. They don't care about your waistline. Most of the time we aren't even hungry. It's just a bad habit we've gotten ourselves into to eat in between meals. In fact, if anything, it's usually thirst we mistake for hunger. Drink hot tea or water in between meals when trying to lose weight. If you're an emotional eater (I sure am) and food rules you, eat a green apple, or any apple for that matter, to turn off hunger. However, keep it a fresh apple from the tree. Apple chips and apple sauces are processed, and while they are better than a donut, they affect blood sugar, which stops weight loss.

STEP THREE—Reshape your body and boost your metabolism with the right kind of workout. I suggest that you stop the workout you're currently doing (it's not working for you) and switch to metabolic boosting workouts. Metabolic boosting workouts have exactly what your body needs to boost your metabolism without adding bulk. The best part? Metabolic workouts can be done in your home or dorm room. That saves you time and money. They can also be modified to accommodate any knee or shoulder injuries. I should warn you—they are extremely contagious and almost every person who starts doing these at school becomes the popular metabolic boosting trendsetter.

It's Time To Take A New Approach To Weight Loss

If you have tried every diet on the planet, and no matter what you do you just can't seem to lose weight or get rid of that belly fat, it's time to take a new approach. When it comes to losing weight and changing the way your body looks four simple steps could make weight loss practically effortless. No matter how old you are or how sluggish your metabolism is, this plan works every time.

I was recently on KTNV TV in Las Vegas where we discussed in depth this fast fat-melting approach. Below is a brief transcript of that interview.

HOST: What makes this plan so much more effective than the other plans that are available?

LL: This plan addresses the metabolism issues that are at the center of the problem. Being overweight, eating less in order to lose weight, low energy, age, being female as well as being a "diet researcher" (trying all of the diets) all affect our metabolism making it slower. With each issue mentioned, it makes losing weight impossible unless you address the underlying problem—the speed of your metabolism. But that's not all. This system is backed by science and address’s all of the issues we all struggle with when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off.

HOST: I struggle myself with issues like low energy and cravings. It seems like I have to work twice as hard as my friends to lose weight. I can't seem to get to the gym every day. Does Metabolic Boosting help overcome these issues? Do we have to exercise to lose weight if we use “The Metabolic Boosting” plan?

LL: I was 40 pounds overweight and had tried every diet including becoming vegetarian and over-exercising. I gained weight until I learned these safe, yet highly effective, all-natural methods that can boost even the most sluggish metabolisms. Including metabolisms that are negatively affected by hypothyroidism and menopausal symptoms. In fact, it's the only way to lose weight if your one of these types. No excuses needed.

Here are 4 Simple Steps that anyone can do—no exercise needed. In fact, the wrong exercise or over-exercising can slow down the process.

Step 1: Boost your Metabolism by 25 percent at breakfast with a delicious Complete Protein Metabolic Boosting Smoothie.
Only LynFit's Complete Protein has the right combination of high-quality protein, low carbs, low sugar and almost no fat. Unlike other store bought
smoothies, LynFit's Complete Protein encourages weight loss vs. weight gain. That results in the 1 pound a day weight loss.

WHEN? 12 Hours after your last meal.
HOW MUCH? 2 scoops in coffee or water equal no excess calories.

Step 2: Take LynFit Accelerator and jump start your metabolism naturally.
This step accelerates the weight loss process naturally and is highly effective at recalibrating your appetite, which helps to keep you feeling fuller longer. LynFit Accelerator kills cravings while making it easier to burn fat easier due to the raspberry ketones in it.

WHEN? First thing in the morning with a Complete Protein Shake. You can take them separately, but for the best results it's better to take them together.
    HOW MUCH? One capsule daily
. Unlike other store-bought brands, you don't need as much, and you'll see better, faster results.

Step 3: Convince your body to burn off that stubborn fat with LynFit Cutting Edge.
This step pulls/lures the fat that's circulating in your system and drags it into the cells to be burned off and used as fuel. It also helps reduce cellulite, controls hunger, lowers cholesterol, and accelerates the fat loss process. Making it easier to lose that stubborn unsightly belly fat.

WHEN? Take this 3 hours after the breakfast
    HOW MUCH? 1 capsule

Step 4: Boost, Block, and Burn by taking LynFit Carb Edge 3 hours after Step 3.
Carb Edge helps further reduce and control cravings while lowering blood sugar levels that are responsible for intense cravings. This step is specifically/strategically placed here mid-day as those are the times we crave the most, blood sugar levels rise and our diets get off course. Carb Edge has an added feature we all need…..it contains White Kidney Bean Extract. If you take it before you cheat and eat carbs, it blocks 65 percent of them from being absorbed, preventing weight gain. Imagine eating a whole donut and absorbing less.

WHEN: After Step 3 or when needed before meals.
    HOW MUCH? 1 capsule

When you combine these four simple steps with a fuss-free, no-calorie-counting, delicious, thermogenic dinner, you're guaranteed to lose 1 pound a day.

The Metabolism Solution plan is the only plan that allows you to lose weight the very same day you start while you're learning how to eat for lifelong weight loss. Why wait to lose when you can lose weight today?
