Skeptical About Collagen Supplementation?

RSS

When it comes to weight loss and nutritional supplements, not all supplements are created equal. In fact, many of the most popular protein powders, skin, hair, nail, and collagen supplements can cause weight gain, bloat, colon/bowel blockages, and harm health versus improve it if they aren't absorbed by our body.

I’d like to share an email I received from someone who was doing research on the internet regarding collagen and weight gain. She came across LynFit.com, and here is her email to me.

Hello,
I am doing an internet search on collagen and weight gain, and I came across your page. My nutritionist suggested I start taking Vital Proteins (collagen). In the four and half months I have been taking it, I am averaging 3-4 pounds heavier and am unable to lose the weight despite netting 1260 calories per day.

I am a 52-year-old-woman, 5’5. I exercise every day. I weighed between 128-131 before using Vital Proteins Collagen, but now I weigh 133-134 since I started using it. My goal weight is 128-130.

Does collagen have something to do with this? I read your blog on “Collagen Causing Weight Gain,” and now I know why I've been struggling to drop those 3-4 extra pounds. Any other thoughts you have would be appreciated. I have always been very careful to maintain my weight and stay within range, so my favorite clothes fit, and this inability to stay under 130 really bugs me.

Thank you for educating us and being honest about issues like this. I am relieved, and I can't wait to get your Daily Repair Liquid Collagen to protect my joints and improve skin, hair, and nail health without gaining weight!

I never get tired of helping people drop those extra frustrating pounds that often causing them to give up hope and stop trying altogether. I've been there, and I know firsthand how awful that feels. That's why I get up every day to help others like Ellie and YOU to reach their goals and feel better. Not just physically but also mentally and spiritually. They are all connected!

To be honest, it's not easy to go out into public and tell the truth when it means I’m not being positive toward other brands. But I answer to a higher authority (God), and I do what He tells me to. Lately, it's been about supplement use... which nutritional supplements to take and which to avoid. And the “why” behind them, which is my favorite part.

I’m the kind of person who needs to be told why I should or shouldn’t do something versus being told to just do it. It's a character defect and asset. It makes me learn the reasons instead of just doing whatever everyone else is doing. Praise God; it's also what got me here and inspired me to keep helping others succeed at losing weight and feeling great. I am, by nature, a supplement scientist.

That's what the chemists and doctors endearingly refer to me as, and I'm proud of that. I’m a science geek, and I’m addicted to researching the best nutrients to take, how much, when, and which kind. If I’m not on the treadmill or feeding my Koi, I’m researching!

That all being said, it's an honor and privilege to be given the opportunity to help you and anyone who has a need. Thank you!

I'm grateful, and I hope this info helps you to make healthier choices when it comes to losing weight, improving your health, and saving you a ton of money in the process.

Next time you find yourself navigating down the nutritional supplement aisle, proceed with extreme caution. The supplements you buy in stores may not be as healthy as you think. They MAY even be the cause of your mysterious weight gain. It happened to me!

Here is what you need to know about LynFit Nutrition’s® Daily Repair Liquid with Hydrolyzed Collagen, plus the six other nutrients in it. Taking them together is ten times better than simply taking collagen alone, especially if you're trying to avoid weight gain or working to drop a few pounds.

I’m going to keep this in short, quotable bullets so you can share this info with your friends.

  • It's an easy-to-take liquid, which is why it has the highest absorption rate (98%) of any other collagen. It has the most bioavailability of any other.

  • Made from hydrolyzed collagen peptides, which are the most absorbable kind. Due to peptides being smaller particles, they are easier to use by your body versus being stored or clogging up your body, causing weight gain and or bloat.

  • Contains hyaluronic acid, which keeps every cell in your body (including skin and joints) lubricated and hydrated. You can see a difference in your face and under-eye circles when you take it. Your joints crack and pop less. Less noise means less friction, so you feel less pain once your body is properly saturated with enough of these nutrients.

  • "Magical" MSM (short for Methylsulfonylmethane). MSM is one of the best-kept secrets, and even though many people have never heard of it, don’t underestimate its superpowers.

It really is a natural miracle worker when it comes to reducing inflammation and stiffness, preventing cartilage and bone breakdown. Alternative practitioners and professional athletic coaches have been using it as a natural way to relieve joint pain, reduce inflammation, and boost immunity.

It's clinically proven to work when it comes to treating conditions like arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, and allergies. All the way to improving and clearing up skin, preventing  breakouts, acne, and rosacea. It also helps improve eye health and speeds healing and recovery after exercise by reducing muscle damage and stress.

  • Glucosamine. More than just a healthy joint, cartilage, and tendon nutrient. It’s also fantastic when it comes to improving skin tone, hair and nail health, in addition to slowing joint degeneration and keeping bones and joints healthy as we age.

  • Chondroitin. This nutrient keeps muscles, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons more elastic and pliable, allowing them to bend and stretch easier. This makes them less prone to rips, tears and pulls. It also helps reduce the enzymes that break down the collagen our bodies make.

  • Vitamin C. I added this antioxidant because it helps prevent oxidation, which is why our joints break down and deteriorate, to begin with. Vitamin C helps our body make up the cells that form our skin, hair, nails, cartilage, joints, ligaments, and tendons while working overtime to prevent the effects of aging.

Bottom line... If you're not taking these other nutrients with your collagen, it's like pouring water in a glass that has a hole in it.

I don't know about you, but I hate waste. Collagen is not only not as effective when taken alone; it's expensive. So, why on earth would anyone take it alone?

When you combine the nutrients in liquid form, you maximize their effectiveness. You won't gain weight because your body assimilates (uses) the nutrients versus storing them, clogging up your system, bloating you, and causing you to gain weight. As far as what you should do with those expensive collagen powders...  🤷‍♀‍ Don't pour it down your drain. It will clog it! Just sayin'!

LOVE YA!
Lisa ♥️
