Most of what we are told about our metabolism is wrong for our body types, especially if you are female, have excess belly fat, and are over 40. I've always struggled with food (even at a very early age) and have been 40 pounds overweight. Everything I was doing was all wrong, but once I started deep diving into the science and research of cellular metabolic metabolism and, learned how my metabolism worked, and put what I learned into action, I finally began to lose weight. Most trendy advice is geared toward the 30-somethings and includes general nutrition advice, which isn't all wrong; it's just not the right advice for anyone who:

  • Is female
  • Over the age of 40
  • Needs to lose weight
  • Has excess belly fat
  • Struggles with hunger and cravings
  • Is menopausal
  • Is hypothyroid
  • Has elevated blood sugar, A1C, and/or LDL cholesterol levels
  • Has lost weight and regained numerous times

All of the above issues cause metabolic resistance, making it impossible to lose weight. If you're a woman over 40 and menopausal, these myths specifically apply to you. (Men, if you're overweight and carrying around excess belly fat, this applies to you, too.)

MYTH #1: Combining diet and exercise is enough to lose weight.

FACT: Exercise and diet are insufficient to lose weight if your body resists weight loss. Ninety percent of your weight loss is nutrition, NOT exercise. That's why I place such a heavy focus on metabolic nutrition. Our bodies don't run on calories per se. The proper ratios of specific nutrients fuel them. 

MYTH #2: All diets, exercise, and nutritional supplements are created equal, and none will help you lose weight or keep your metabolism revved up. 

FACT: WRONG — Typical supplements can cause weight gain and BLOCK the weight loss and fat-burning process due to certain nutrients that can counteract the very things you're trying to accomplish.
