Overindulged? Here's How to Get Back on Track in 24 Hours
Share
Halloween kicks off what I refer to as the Eating Olympics. Once the weather cools, Halloween candy fills store shelves, followed by Thanksgiving feasting, and Christmas right after. 'Tis the season and our hunger hormones and stomach know it!
The good news is that in the grand scheme of things, one day of overindulging isn't that bad when you have the right tools. Even if you overindulged on sugar, fat, and salt, it won't make or break your healthy eating habits over the long term.
However, what you choose to do immediately after your binge will either get you back on track or turn your slip up into an entire year of overindulging. I remind my weight loss clients that every day is a fresh new start, and rather than feeling guilty or being hard on yourself, focus on the positive steps you can take instead. Once you’ve declared yourself done for the day, set your fork or spoon down and follow this game plan. It makes it easy to get back on track to feeling good again.
Here’s your quick reset plan to help you get back on track and into ketosis within 24 hours to avoid weight gain and start losing weight and burning fat again.
That Night
Put your sneaks on, button up your pants, and take a walk! Walking helps reduce bloat and the feeling of fullness. It also helps improve digestion, making it easier to metabolize your food.
Research shows that walking at a moderate pace (not intense) for as little as 15 minutes after overindulging can help prevent extreme blood sugar spikes and slow blood sugar from dropping too fast, which causes cravings for carbs and sugar.
NOTE: If you took LynFit Keto Carb Edge before overindulging, rebalancing blood sugar will be even easier. If you didn't, make sure you always have some with you during the holiday season. Keto Carb Edge prevents hunger and cravings before they begin, and if you end up overeating out of habit, it blocks 65% of the unwanted carbs and fats form being absorbed. Blood sugar is stabilized, which is the best kept secret when it comes to preventing weight gain and making it easier to lose weight. The additional carb-blocking means that you get to eat a little more and absorb less without gastric issues or unconstructed side effects. The bottom line is you won't have to lose what you never gained.
Before you go to bed, take (1-2) LynFit 5-HTP Lean and make sure to drink some water, especially if you consume alcohol, to prevent dehydration, which may help prevent headaches.
If you're prone to acid reflux, try propping your head up on several pillows and take (2) LynFit Raspberry Ketone Cleanse & Restore to reduce bloating and feeling hungover.
Try to get at least 7 -8 hours of sleep. More is not better and can set you back.
It's important to stay on track with your sleep pattern and taking 5-HTP at night helps you fall asleep, in addition to turning off hunger hormones that can follow a bad day of eating. Rest is crucial!
Without adequate rest, you will no doubt feel worse. Insufficient sleep results in cravings for energy-dense (usually processed carbs, sugars, and nutritionally depleted, empty calorie) foods. Studies show that after missing out on just 80 minutes of sleep participants went on to eat an extra 550 calories throughout the day.
The Next Morning
Once you finally do roll out of bed (even though you may feel like hibernating all day--GET UP), take (1) Keto Carb Edge as soon as you wake up and again 3-4 hours later.
Keto carb Edge will not only make you feel better, but it also helps clean up the previous day's damage and reset your metabolism, getting you back into ketosis so you start losing weight again. It also prevents those horrible morning after cravings that can occur due to your blood sugar being out of balance, making it easy to get back on track with your weight loss.
Make yourself a delicious blood sugar-lowering, metabolic boosting Clean Cocoa Egg White Protein Shake versus ingesting more carbohydrates, sugars, or fats to rebalance your system and lower blood sugar levels.
Unlike typical store-bought shakes or smoothies, the protein it contains is easy for your body to digest and assimilate, helping to refuel your body without spiking blood sugar levels. It also provides hydration.
If you need more energy, try adding (1 scoop) of LynFit Energy Ignite to boost flavor and hydrate more efficiently than water. You'll feel good even after a day of overindulging.
Repeat Keto Carb Edge and the smoothie 3-4 hours after around mid-day to prevent blood sugar and energy crashes and get you back on track faster to avoid weight gain.
The Next Afternoon
Have a large cup of hot tea or warm water with lemon, and have a green apple to prevent blood sugar from plummeting too low and keep you feeling naturally energized.
Have an Early Dinner
Have an early healthy dinner filled with lean protein, some fibrous antioxidant-packed vegetables, and a large leafy green salad to replenish nutrients, rehydrate, and help to keep you feeling full and satisfied, while stabilizing blood sugar levels.
No, you shouldn’t starve yourself to cut calories in an effort to offset yesterday’s caloric splurges. This plan is perfect, balanced, and healthy. The goal is to get you back on-track with sustainable healthy eating, not a starvation diet that’s going to make you feel hungrier, more deprived, and under-nourished, which sends your body into a tailspin and begging for morse carbs and sugar.
By now by now you should feel more or less back on track. If you feel recalibrated, squeeze in a light, not too intense workout. It will help promote digestion and get you back in the right mindset.
If you decide to punish yourself with a workout that's too hard, you will require more hydration, so make sure you're hydrating. LynFit Daily Repair Liquid Collagen has hyaluronic acid that can help hydrate faster and more efficiently, which your body needs if you drank too much and insist on doing overly intense workouts.
Then, make sure to congratulate yourself on not allowing yesterday’s food slip ups take your off track permanently and for getting back up fast!
Repeat the 5-HTP Lean, call it a night, and go to bed early. You've got more fat-burning and healthy eating days ahead!
