Leaner, Stronger, Healthier Moms May 09 2017

Being a mom means caring for others, which usually means we either miss meals or end up grabbing what's handy and eating the wrong things and neglect our health.

Moms need to make their health the number one priority in order to effectively take care of everyone else and set a good example for their kids. Often, this lack of self-care causes us to gain weight, have elevated blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure levels. Moms, there are simple solutions (invite your daughter to join you, or heck, ask your whole family; might as well get everyone healthy).

I'm sure you've told your family to "eat your veggies." It's good advice for you too. Diets that are rich in vegetables may reduce the risk of cancer and other chronic diseases. 

While veggies are important to provide essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber, there is one nutrient that women are severely lacking, and it's the MOST important nutrient. Can you guess what it is? Protein, Protein, Protein! That's why woman struggle with: 

    • Hunger and cravings
    • Moodiness
    • Lack of energy

The truth is, most of us moms (myself included) are so busy taking care of everyone else that we forget all about ourselves. For me, this led to a lot of anxiety and depression, and I couldn't get out of the vicious cycle that led me to gain 40 pounds.

I exercised every day; in fact, I over exercised. I just couldn't get my food clean until I had/found the right tools that made taking care of myself fast and easy, allowing me more time for my kids and more energy to keep up with them. Now they can barely keep up with me!
