How To Win The "Battle Of The Bulge"

If you've been battling the bulge, getting rid of belly fat can make it easier to lose weight. Most people think that losing belly fat is just about vanity, but what you might not know is that if you can pinch more than an inch of belly fat, your health is in danger, and losing weight will be more difficult. It's like trying to drive with the emergency brake on.

Excess abdominal fat, particularly visceral fat that surrounds your organs and puffs your stomach out into a beer gut, is a predictor of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. It's also a sign that your hormones are out-of-balance, and your body is insulin-resistant, which also places you at risk for cancer.

If diet and exercise haven’t helped reduce the pooch, your hormones are most likely out-of-balance, and it's time to take the next fat loss intervention step. Here are the top 7 reasons your belly fat won't budge, and you're not losing weight.

  1. You're getting older

As we age, our body changes how it gains weight and how it loses weight. Both women's and men's metabolism begin to experience a decline in their metabolic rate and begin to burn fewer calories, regardless of the amount or type of exercise you do. Yes, even if you eat healthily and feel there is nothing more you can do to improve either of those.

Add to that stress (like living in today’s world), menopause, and andropause, and every ounce you gain goes straight to your belly.

Most people know that in menopause, the hormones estrogen and progesterone slows down, and in andropause, the male hormone testosterone levels start dropping as well. Here is the worst part: This body fat we gain around our midsection also secretes hormones, making it even more difficult to lose weight, blocking the burning off of belly fat. The good news is YOU CAN win this fight!

  2. You’re doing the wrong workout or working too hard

We all know that exercise is great for our bodies and helps reduce stress, but by itself, it won't do much for your weight loss or help you burn off belly fat. It's critical that you do a combination of weight lifting (muscle burns more calories) and cardiovascular exercise at the right intensity to set your body up to burn off belly fat and boost metabolic function. If you push too hard, you actually cause stress hormones to rise, which is exactly what you don’t want to happen. I’m sure you're asking what kind of exercise should you do, how much, and when.

Diet is 90% of your success, so you still need to clean up your eating. For the best results, jump start your weight loss with the one-two punch and follow these metabolic guidelines, which are as follows:

Do whole-body workouts three times weekly at your own pace, and do not push too hard or you will sabotage your efforts. Make sure you talk or hold a conversation while working out, which is an easy way to monitor your intensity levels. If you're working so hard that you can't speak, slow down, take a walk break, and work at a slower pace. Fatigue, stress, and losing weight can all play a role in how hard you can work. It will change daily, so listen to your body and rest if you want to burn off that excess body fat.

This also applies to cardiovascular activities such as walking, biking, and any exercise that makes you breathe hard. It's important to understand the science and remove your emotions if you're serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Allowing emotions to cloud good judgment (pushing too hard) is one of the biggest metabolic killers I deal with every day. It's much like a drug addiction for many people because, yes, you can get high when you exercise, which is great for the moment. If taken too far, however, it can backfire. Just take a look around the gym or at runners who run with joint issues.

If you have to reduce your intensity (I do) due to injuries or joint issues, you can increase your frequency, which means daily cardio workouts. If you love the high that a good workout delivers (I sure do), you can still reap those benefits by going slower and lowering your intensity. It may take you longer to get that feeling, but that’s also one of the most successful ways to lose belly fat because it doesn't tripper the “stop burning belly fat alarm” since it won't cause excess cortisol to be secreted. Some people actually lose more weight and burn off more belly fat by not exercising as long, as long as they eat clean enough, add a few fat loss intervention strategies, and aren't sitting on the couch all day.

Don't believe me? Try it for yourself, and you'll quickly see the scale begin to move again. There are some people who's bodies can handle more physical stress than others, and this DOES NOT apply to them. How do you know if your body needs to hit your workouts harder or chill a little? The scale not moving and your beer belly tells you everything you need to know!

Fast metabolically every night from 6 pm to 9 am (or 12-14 hours that fit your schedule). Do your metabolic workout or cardio on an empty stomach, but do take the Accelerator Advanced and, more importantly, the Cutting Edge, before and again after, as well as throughout the day to keep your fat-burning fires burning hot. This stack sets the stage for more efficient fat burning, and the more you struggle to lose, the more important it is that you take both as directed on your Metabolic Weight Loss Plan.

Break the fast with a LynFit Metabolic Boosting Shake made with water. Do not add fruit or any kind of milk... only water and ice (black coffee or Chai tea can work). Every time you add any non-approved ingredient, you turn your shake into a dessert, and when it comes to burning off stubborn belly fat, you've gotta follow the laws of fat burning. Less sugar is always best.

Throw out any juices or juicing you've been doing, leave fruit out of your morning shake, and pour out that almond, rice, or coconut milk you've been told is so good for you. It isn't, and it blocks fat loss!

The leanest people on the planet do this, and endocrinologists agree that you do need to combine weight workouts with cardiovascular training. Ninety-eight percent of the time, they work best done separately versus trying to do them together like a CrossFit class can. I have nothing against CrossFit, but if you notice, unless participants are under 30 and male, they rarely work for weight loss.

You need approximately 30-60 minutes of activity daily, and the harder you work, the less you'll need. If you're one of those people who like to push, you'll need to reduce your exercise time.

In my 30 years, and also my personal experience of losing 40 pounds, I've witnessed that one hour of exercise daily is the best when it comes to losing weight, burning off belly fat and keeping it off, and also protecting your immune system versus harming it. I was one of those "push until you can't do another rep" girls, and I've also trained with some of the biggest names in the industry, including male bodybuilders and wrestlers from WWF, WBF, who liked to train with me because I was consistent and my drive was so high. Honestly, it was an addiction and made me gain weight because I made myself so hungry and clouded my judgment. Now, my mission is to help others who struggle like I did.

To review: Weekly, moderate-intensity exercise = no more than 250 minutes, and high-intensity exercise, reduce to 125 minutes, or less if you insist on not changing.

This leads me directly to my next point: Diet is 90% of your weight loss success, and nutritional supplements fit under his category because they are nutrients (at least the ones LynFit sells are -- I can't speak to other store-bought supplements).

LynFit's products are designed to work and get you results, even when other methods have failed. They do this is by addressing the underlying issues that have been preventing you from losing in the first place while nourishing the body and filling in nutritional gaps that are often the cause of a sluggish metabolism and can also weaken our immunity.

The Metabolic Weight Loss Meal Plan makes it easy for you. It also kills cravings and keeps you feeling fuller longer, which makes it easy to avoid the refined foods that are preventing you from losing weight and blocking fat burning. The built-in cleanse and detox improves whole-body health, including powering up immunity because it's loaded with natural foods that are loaded with antioxidants that have the best inflammatory properties and prevents belly fat from forming in the first place.

The Metabolic Weight Loss Plan lists specific foods that boost metabolism and foods that block it and are known to affect thyroid health, which is directly related to your weight loss. Bottom line: When it comes to eating for weight loss, if it's not on the metabolic food list, it's not good for weight loss, and the less of those foods you eat, the more weight you'll lose, and the belly fat will begin to vanish.

STOP eating the wrong kinds of fat and swap them out for good fats instead! If you're already overweight your body doesn't react the same way to all fats. Research proves that a high intake of saturated fats like the kinds in red meats, cheese, and the cream or milk you've been putting in your coffee every morning causes an increase in visceral fat (the kind surrounding your organs and spitting out weight gain hormones while we speak). However, there are good fats like the omega 3s found in supplements like Pure Omega 3, Daily Wellness CBD, and our delicious Super Omega 3 Dressings. You can try to get omega 3 from food, but in order to satisfy your body's demands and nutritional needs, you would need to eat excessive amounts of walnuts, salmon, sunflower seeds, etc., which would send your calories through the roof and defeat the purpose unless you're trying to gain weight. That's where supplements come in.

For those of you who think moderation is the key, you'll soon see that you can't moderate the nutrients you need and meet your body's requirements. It's simple science... your body doesn’t need more calories, it needs more nutrients, and that's why you need the right supplements in the proper amounts taken regularly when it comes to losing weight, and especially burning off that belly fat. It's also important to note that increasing calories of any kind, including good ones, can lead to weight gain. Follow the plan as shown, don't add or subtract any foods, and you're guaranteed to lose weight!

The three most important fat burning supplements you need, if you're trying to burn off stubborn body fat, are Cutting Edge, Complete Protein, and omega 3 (you can choose which method or use some of all three).

  3. You're stressed (funny, isn't it?)

I don't know anyone living in today's world who isn't affected by the stress of the times, and if you think it's not affecting you, you're probably too stressed to realize it. Add to that sick family members' fear of getting sick, job insecurity, bills piling up, working at home with kids home, and not enough rest all make it harder to lose weight and impossible to burn off belly fat. In fact, it blocks it, which is why you need to take steps to reduce stress.

It's not all in your head, regardless of your source of stress. Having too much of it does make it harder for you to drop unwanted pounds, especially from your midsection, and overexercising adds to your stress levels. It’s all due to the stress hormone cortisol that your body is secreting while under stress. It is directly related to the amount of fat your body has, and it enlarges your fat cells. Research proves that higher levels of cortisol have been linked to more visceral fat (aka belly fat).

  4. Your sleep isn't good, or you’re skimping on sleep

If you’re among the 30% of Americans who sleep less than six hours a night, you're more likely to gain 30 pounds or more and have more belly fat than those who sleep deeper.

One simple trick to whittle your waistline by improving your sleep is to take natural, metabolic boosting supplements like Lean Sleep with Melatonin. If you're like me, and good sleep is getting harder and harder, stack it with either 5-HTP Lean (if you struggle with depression and food cravings) or use LynFit's CBD Daily Wellness Drops. They won't slow metabolism and cause weight gain the way other non-metabolic methods can, and of course, keep your sleep hygiene habits in place.

Here is the sleep stack I suggest to my clients and family, especially now: (1) 5-HTP Lean at 3 pm (best if taken 4-6 hours before you want to sleep) and (1-2) Lean Sleep (it's okay to double up, especially now with stress being so high).

You should also take (1-4 dropper fulls) of CBD Daily Wellness Drops or Capsules. I do both (3 dropper fulls or more) and (3) capsules because the drops help me fall asleep fast, and the capsules are longer-acting, so they help me stay asleep as well.

  5. You're shaped like an apple

If you tend to pack pounds around your midsection rather than your hips and thighs, you're shaped like an apple. This is usually genetic and does make it harder to burn off belly fat, but it's not impossible if you do the right things, one of which is use metabolic optimizers like Cutting Edge to encourage your body to burn off abdominal fat.

Cutting Edge not only increases fat burning, but it also inhibits fat storage by binding to the fat and blocking it from being stored and carrying it into the fat-burning mitochondria instead (also known as the fat-burning furnace). It does this powerfully and safely and is all-natural and stimulant-free.

Everyone should be taking Cutting Edge when trying to lose weight because you want to become leaner, not just lighter. It can be taken before meals to help block fat from being absorbed, especially before cheat meals or when you eat out. Take (1-2) Cutting Edge in the morning, at noon, and also shortly after or before consuming a high-fat meal. Be sure to drink eight or more ounces of water when using Cutting Edge and consume healthy fats such as fish oil found in Pure Omega 3, LynFit's Super Omega 3 Dressings, or CBD Daily Wellness.

It's also always a good idea to take daily essential, fat solvable nutrients such as vitamins A, D, E, and K found in Recovery Agent (the strongest) or Daily Power Shot.

  6. You drink more than three alcoholic drinks weekly

Note to wine drinkers: Your body requires Cutting Edge to block new fat cell formation (aka beer belly)! We suggest stacking our Accelerator Advanced with Cutting Edge for maximum results as alcohol changes metabolism and can make it almost impossible to burn off belly fat. It's wine or your waistline!

  7. You're not motivated enough or not as motivated as you think you are

Sorry, I hate saying it as much as you hate hearing it. Melting off stubborn belly fat requires 100% commitment to doing what’s needed, as long and as often as necessary until belly fat begins to be reduced.

The good news is it’s guaranteed when you take a cleaner keto, metabolic boosting approach, combining the strategic use of specific supplements and increasing your prebiotic fiber like the supplements and fiber in the Metabolic Boosting Lose 1 Pound Per Day program. If you've been stuck and not sure where to start, we made it easy! Start with the Metabolic Boosting System, and don’t forget to add the right kind of exercise, which is a combination of weight training and cardiovascular exercise. If you're willing to do the work, YOU CAN get past genetics and lose the weight for good.

Are you committed to the work needed to lose belly fat?
